Default stihl 050 help

i just purchased a stihl 050 that did not run. when i got it, it did not have spark. i cleaned the coil and the fly wheel because they were very dirty. and still no spark. im not familiar with those old saws. dont they have points and condencer? if so. where are they? any help would be appreciated.

This chain saw, that you have, does has points and condenser. I'll copy this out of my service manual.
A flywheel type Bosh magneto is used. Set breaker contact gap to 0.016" inch (4mm). Spark timing is adjusted by loosening stator mounting screws, and rotating stator plate. Spark should occur when the piston is 0.098-0.102BTDC. Hope this help a bit. Bruce.

thanks bruce.that will get me started. i think i might change it over too electronic ignition if i can find the parts. i wonder if a stihl dealer would have something like that?
