| I am newly registered here and i was wondering if you guys could give me a little bit of help? I have a Stihl 031Av saw and the thing wont start 99% of the time. You can pull hard on it for 10 minutes and it wont do anything and everynow and then it will fire but wont fire again untill another million pulls. And when it does crank up it dosent like to idle and will just choke out when its wide open most of the time. It is getting good fire and the plug is fine, its getting 80 pounds of compression and i dont know what is wrong with it!! CAn you help me please thanks, Tyler |

| welcome Tyler,It sounds like you need to rebuuild the engine,80 pounds isn't alot of compression that saw should push about 100-120 on a compression tester. While your at it clean and rebuild the carby and check the seals on the crank[pressure test].

| Yes,when you start make sure your piston is at the bottom of the cylinder and then stop pulling when it hits the top.
