Let me know, what chain you are running, .325", or 3/8" LP, or 3/8" Pitch and I'll look it up in my Carlton Dealership, chain saw chain book, and see if I can help you, figure that out. Bruce.

Hey Bruce its .325 pitch I get the feeling it ll be 1 more link for 1 extra tooth but i m not sure so thanx for looking. I figured if its got enough power this should spinn 13-14 % quicker than 7 tooth sproket just hope the needle bearing is up for it.

I put new rings on this saw a few days ago. When taking the top ring off it broke under very light presure. I recon it had a tiny crack in it. I ve run these new rings in with a couple of tanks of feul and now this saw is pulling through oak as thik as its 15 inch bar with the 8 tooth rim sprocket like a dream. full acseleration works a treat just lean enough to clear up in the cut just the ticket.

Reviving an old thread; My saw has the 3rd muffler pictured & I drilled a couple of holes in it so now it resembles the 4th muffler pictured. Re-tuned the carb & off I went. Almost immediately the rings went soft! It could have just been that the saw was old anyway & would have died regardless of the muffler mod, or maybe I ran it too lean? (But I think not!). I was going to throw it out & buy a Makita, but I've just put a new non-genuine top end on it instead (read; because I like tinkering!). Well, that has certainly livened the old saw up! It's NEVER pulled like this before! I was limbing with it yesterday (16" bar, 3/8 F/C chain) & it was really, really pulling hard I've never really liked this saw up till now, but I'm looking at it differently since it got the new top end! The difference between now & then is indescribable!

I have a read through these posts that were put up since 2009. One comment may have answered my question, but I would like a firm answer, please.
Did Stihl make an 026 with no high speed adjustment screw?
This saw in question has a clear gas tank, white fuel vent, narrow air cleaner, and the aircleaner cover latches under the aircleaner screws.
There is no high speed screw in the carb and the hole where one would expect it to be doesn't appear threaded.
The engine family is: YA8XS0494RA

Thank you in advance for the correct answer.

Yes they did. I have one in the shop but can't recall the number.

The wt-194 is the carb with both a high and low adjustment, and is preferred.
