I am looking for a pdf for a repair manual on this saw. The current question that I have is regarding gas leakage out of a port next to where the gas line enters the tank. I never noticed this opening before but I assume that it must be a vent for the tank. The problem is that gas leaks out of this opening during use and there must be a part to prevents this?? Hopefully some of your experts here can answer this question. Thank you.

redneck - The gas line has it's own port for entry into the gas tank. The port that I am referring to is about 3 inches to the left of this port. If I had a diagram, or someone who owns this saw, they could than tell me what this port is for. But ?? I've seeen other posts that indicate that they have a problem with gas leakage on this model of saw and I suspect this is where it comes from. Thank you for your reply. |

Do you mean the breather just above the clutch? It should have a bit of fuel line coming out of there. 009, but nearly the same saw. |

I tried to post a picture here but it wouldn't accept my file size so I posted it here. Check it out. Thank you. HTTP://Community.webshots.com/user/hobo1240 The hole that I am referring to that leaks gas is to the far right of the gas line. |

There is duck bill valve that fits in there to vent the fuel tank.\ |

I posted this question on another forum and the consences seems to be that this is a barometric pressure relieve port. It was said to plug the hole with a short piece of tubing and place a threaded screw in it to prevent the gas leakage. Evidently, by leaving the screw partly turned out it allows the tank pressure to equalize for different locations in the world. I have something similiar to this on one of my bigger saws. Thanks redneck. I think you were describing the same fix. Great responses and thanks to all! |
