hi! I'm thinking of buying another chainsaw and need help. The chainsaw would be for occasional use (not want to spend extra money on range proficional) for cutting firewood, felling of trees (medium and small) and thinning. I've been watching Mudela 2 husqvarna 359 (59cm ^ 3) and stihl 291 (55.5cm ^ 3). both cost + / - the same thing! What do I advise? Quality, durability, power, cut ... handcuff have any thoughts? required Sorry for my bad English |

oi! Here there are no representatives in the area Dolmar / soil / makita, soon after will be hard to have after sales assistance. He did not want to spend extra money on a vocational route (since no one will be to work every day). The stihl ms 291 was a new route that went out to a few countries since here there is no 290 ms. I know it must be a difficult comparison between a Chainsaw 59 cm ^ 3 (husqvarna 359-570 €) and one of 55.5 cm ^ 3 (stihl ms291 (2-mix technology) € -599). Both saws have roughly the same weight and the same horses. Lately I've read that stihl is more robust and better husqvarna cut and is of lesser quality. Justify paying more for € 1 saw less cm ^ 3)? But others feel that husqvarna is better. I'm very indecisive. Can you help?

I remember that, Husqvarna saws are the preferred option to many of the Portuguese tree working people I worked with, while living there. I also remember that at that time, over 30 years ago, parts where a lot less expensive that then Stihl. I don't know how much these 2 brands have developed in the Portuguese market but, my choice would be the Husqvarna 359. Cheers George | |

The Husky 359 has a metal case, the Stihl 290 (291?) will be plastic. ?

| How did you get a saw two years bf it was introduced????? You must be a member of the Andreas Stihl family? If you are referring to the MS390, it belongs to a totally different family of saws, and has very little in common with the 391 other than it is the 390's replacement.
