Default Spark arrestors or not

Does anyone else run their 020/ms200T without the spark arrestor?

I know i know, it could start a fire, but in a backyard its not going to start anything, plus we should all have our extinguishers on site and i do put them back in for summer.

Be carfull, removing the arrestor will allow the saw to rev out more, and this could exceed the max RPMs, so you may need to richen the HSN a little.

I took mine out. I think it breathes easier. I'll put it back in when it gets hotter though.

I actually got my 200T used, and it came without one, but I ordered one, used it for a lil bit, then decided to take it out and just hold onto it for summer. I think there's a noticeable enough difference that I'll swap it in and out based on where I know I'm gonna be and what kinda wood I'm working with (ie dead wood in the dry grass vs live wood in a yard.)

Retune as necessary.

Right - those saws who come with them, has them removed before they are started the first time.....

...but most saws come without them here - they mostly aren't even an option....

Depends where you buy them here I think. You would not believe how easy it is to start a fire here, even in good years. Where mts247 is, it's very dry, because of our long dry spell. I don't use them, but I'm in the suburbs now.
Had to put out a few fires my old Husky 280 & 380 started, muffler just pointed in the wrong direction.

Good to see you drop in.

Hey a_lopa,

You better put that spark arrestor screen back in .... apparently without it you can start a fire.
