shindaiwa oiling problem

hi guys i have an older shindaiwa 488 that stoped putting out chain oil just looking for some trouble shootin help

Doesn't the user manual say anything about that?

How often do you clean the oil holes and the groove in the bar?

How often do you flip the bar, after cleaning it out?

the only thing i found in the manual said to return it to the dealer
i clean the holes and bar befor and after i use the saw and some times during if im doing heavy or just lots of cutting
the bar gets fliped probable every time it gets cleaned never payed attention to witch way it went in

Probably the oil pump etc ... strip and inspect.

I'd try cleaning the oil filter first before I started tearing it apart. You might also try turning the oiler to it's maximum setting if you haven't already done so.

I've had 5 488's and never a problem with an oil pump. If you find you need to get a pump, Edge and Engine is a good place to deal with for new parts and Chainsawr.com has used Shindaiwa parts.
