I recently(still going through it) went through a bad situation with an Stihl MS 390. I now need to get a new chainsaw. I want one with more power and cutting ability than the MS 390. The 390 was nice in terms of power but since I am having to get another one I want one even stronger and with more cutting speed. Any suggestions on what would fit this bill? Doesnt have to be a Stihl but do want a good quality saw. Any ideas? Thanks |

how big is the average diameter of wood your cutting? do you cut hard wood or softs mostly? this all makes a difference in saw choices.

If you are a big guy then go for a stihl ms660 as the range of bar lengths you can put on is greater. The ms440 is a great option also and you can use it all day as it is lighter. Stihl or Husqy but nothing else.

Exactly....that information is a good place to start as well as how important dealer support is, what is the budget, are used saws a possibility, and the amount of cutting he will be doing. | ||
