I think RBTree has mentioned a few times the benefit of porting the muffler on the 192T. Any description, tips, photos etc on whats actually done to it and how? |

You might want to start by Taking out all the Baffles out of the inside of the Muffler. I did that with my 024,and I ran it for a while, without doing anything to the Face of the Muffler. I then took out the Baffle, that was on the Inside of the Face Cover of the Muffler. I Placed a Piece of Metal over the Hole, in the Face Cover of the Muffler, from the Inside of the Muffler, and welded it from the Outside, covering the Hole with Beads of Weld, with my MiG Welder. I then ground down the Beads of Weld with my Angle Grinder, to make a nice Finished Job. I then Drilled Four 5/16" Holes in the Muffler Face, One in Each Corner. The Difference with the Finished Muffler was . It made such a Difference, once I got the Carburetor Finally Adjusted, the Speed, and Power that this little Chain Saw has is Great. . If you wish, I can do some Research for you, and let you know what Size of Drill Bits to Use, and how many Holes you need to Drill in the Face Cover of the Muffler, or Somebody might have that Information already. Bruce.

There's no baffles in the muffler that I could see. Just remove deflector, enlarge its opening, and the outer as well. Then, open the hole behind it most of the way, or at least till it's say, 9/16th or so. Retune carb, and go for it..it'll be about 20% faster. ng, that's what has to be done on the 2139/338.....

Hmmm. I have 3. Both the ones we're currently using, one fully woods modded, the other just muffler ported, run very well...and reliably....of course they are a lot faster than the doggy stockers.
