Hi Folks, has anybody used the new Oregon chainsaw sharpener? The advert they have looks pretty good, (sharpening a blade in like 2mins), but I wonder how good it sharpens the blade. Also, how long does the sharpener last? Any info appreciated. |

First off what type of grinder are you asking about? Most AC and DC grinders last fairly well. The wheel is the one weak point being a consumable. Another factor in grinder life is maintenece. |

its not an AC or DC. You clip it onto the end of your chainsaw and run it for 2 mins and it apparently sharpens it. Check it out on the Oregon site, its weird. |

Not a new idea. Old idea redesigned. Youtube has video of it. Biggest down fall is the how much the thing costs. If you use the saw limted amounts it would be fine. If you use the saw alot then no it is worthless. ![]() |

For a causal gardener this would be fine. For the serious sawyer then a good file is better and faster then some skrew ball gadget. When I am in the field I can sharpen a 3 foot bar with semi skip chain on the saw in less then 3 minutes.

ha ha, I guess you can just abuse the groundworker and get them to do it while you enjoy the view from above. |
