I'm not 100% sure but it looks as if this product is not new but borrowed from another industry...typical of treework..I think this is the same stuff machinist use to lube their work while drilling and machining, We used to call it "love juice", Ekka will be familiar with this?

Yeah I have been using it for a while now, seems to lube as well as oil. It is some kind of veg oil with an emulsifier/detergent that allows it to mix with water. Chain seems to run a lot cooler, I always run my saws on max oiling anyway, mainly because a lot of the pines have heavy sap and the extra oil helps keep the B+C cleaner. It doesn't stink like the Alco chain oil I used before. I am going to use the last of the mineral oil and then will run arborol, it is just nicer to use then mineral stuff. BTW I sent off for one of the free kits and they sent me 10 samples! |

As far as I know it is handled by the local Oregon dealer and they just sent me a big box with 10 smaller boxes inside. Each small box had an empty bottle and a 100ml sample of Arborol and a poster. You pour the small sample into the 500ml bottle and fill with water and you are good to go. Interesting idea, and I like the idea of not spraying mineral oil over everything. |

According to their website, you're only supposed to mix what you can consume in 1 day. Does it break down or settle out if you don't use it all in 1 day?

I mixed a bottle of arborol about a month ago and it hasn't separated out yet.
