I have a shindaiwa 757 which is leaking lots of oil whether it's running or not. The chain stays pretty much dry. Bar oiler holes are clean. I would poke around looking for a leak, but I don't know exactly where to look. Any ideas? My only clue is I have been using used motor oil in both saws for the past 6 months.

Dang, I thought you lived in the Gulf of Mexico or something. ![]() I had one of those Shitdaiwas ... they leak fuel too! Anyway, could be the pump, could be the oil line etc .... it's a strip down but from experience I can tell you, mine leaked like a Indonesian ship of refugees bound for Botany Bay too! Today I swear, buy Stihl and stuff the rest, remember that for next time.

Heavy. and low revving pieces of shit. The worst carby's you'd try to tune and work with especially aloft. ... It's a dog of a saw. It's so badly designed that you cannot reach the chainbrake with your fingers when your hand is on the top handle. The top handle is an open loop and your lanyard continually gets caught in it, same for their top handled piece of heavy shit. Saws like that make me realise how fortunate I am not to be a cheap assed sucker scabbing out on $'s but expecting quality.

thanks for the help. I'll look under the clutch today, if I can figure it out. I have owned four chainsaws, a husky 371, and shindaiwa 377,488,757. I've never handled another saw. I only own chainsaws for one reason: I bought 22 acres of 130 foot canopy of tropical junk trees. In terms of how they felt and worked in my hands, the 371 and 757 both felt equally great. The only reason I bought Shindaiwa was there was only one repair shop in town. BTW: my 757 muffler fell out this month, too. |
