I have just bought a new Stihl MS 391 chainsaw through a second party in the US and had it shipped to Brisbane. I was told that the Oregon distributor was a bit suspicious as this person had also brought a number of other chainsaws there recently. The dealer told the purchaser that he had to test it before sale so filled it with fuel and chain oil. Both of which had to be drained before being packaged and sent to me. The chainsaw looks great and the price is good but will not even try to start. No ignition at all. I have followed the startup process to the letter, pulled the plug, dried it off and let the cylinder dry out but it still hasn't fired at all. Any suggestions to remedy would be appreciated. Cheers ptight |

Issues such as these arise with a high aussie dollar. Stihl nor Husky warranty saws bought second party, ie ebay etc. Have you check to see whether there is spark? Was the plug wet when you pulled it? Maybe the carb's a bit clagged from the fuel that was ran through it in USA. Change the plug on the off chance that its failed, clean the carby out. Fuel + Air + Spark = ![]() Chears Tony |
