hi there first time on a forum i was recently given a chainsaw by a good friend my aim is to restore it give it a damn good clean ect but need to know what model so i can get replacement parts any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated ![]() |

im 100% sure its a 064. happy to be proven wrong, but highly doubt it. |

ill take your word for it mate thanks a lot for your help i did have a hunch but wasn't sure as i all the pics i found looked different to my saw |

I,d bet that saw,s an o31 possibly an o36,I have an 064 and the rear sweep to the handle is more sqared off on the 64 I will get my son to post pics of my small collection soon 12 old saws .... the pres please correct me if Im wrong |

I'll go the 064, check this thread out. Stihl Saw ID help?? On the casing behind the cover facing upwards you should find the S/N. I have never had a 064 but thats were it is on all my other saws. ![]() All the best Tony |

Two dead giveaway details,Metal Air filter cover and recoil cover is unique to the 064 saw.

That is a early edition 064. First came out early 1986. 14.1 lbs, 85cc Here is my 1986 Stihl 064 with a 084 carb that I put on it way back in 1989. Still runs strong today. Best power to weight saw I ever owned in both stock and modified form |
