Three years ago, I bought a husky 455 rancher. I love everything about the saw except one thing..... the oiler! Apparently Im not the only one either! I have taken it apart many times and have not been able to find the culprit! I recently acquired a jonsered 830. I want my husky to go down the road. I paid 400 and some change and figured I could sell it for half that easily. Sould I hang on to the jonsered or sell it and combine the money to get a new saw that will treat me right. I have only run the jonsered a couple times it needs a new chain so before I buy the chain Im trying to figure out what to do! Also if anyone knows about the jonsered 830 feel free to give me some info/opinion on the saw. I read a few places it is an 80cc engine is this true?

Ditch that trash heap Husky and put the money into the Jred 830. The Jred is a real pro saw. The 830 with a 24" bar and a good sharp chain will make that garbage pile Husky a real spanking. You got a Jred that is well regarded in logging circle. Parts are for Jred are plentiful, many Husky models share parts. |

redneck sounds like you have a history with this saw! Anything else you would like to elaborate on? I kinda got that feeling myself as it cuts better than the husky even with a dull chain!I guess I should buy a 24 in bar and chain for it then!

We ran them as landing saws for a few years. The saw is awsome with a 24" bar and full skip chain.
