Nice saw mate, I just bought a new MS660 so I know the excitement of getting some new toys to work with. It looks like a pretty good mid sized saw good for blocking down, is it a very heavy saw to climb with. Looks a beauty have fun with it and stay safe. |

Just sold this saw to a guy on the east coast so him and his 12 year old could learn on together. Built by Dave Nieger.

Nice saw. Those Euro model 361s are better than the US ones. More power from the factory (different muffler, and different cylinder). US 361: 4.4 hp Eu 361: 4.6 hp Uh oh... I cannot even select a 361 on the US Stihl web site any more. And the 311 and 391 are now listed there too (and not the 310 and 390). The Stihl strato saws have taken over here in the states now!!! My ex loved it when I bought another saw. I got hugs and kisses every time another one showed up. |

SawTroll did a muffler mod on his Euro 361 a while back. He said that the gains were noticable, but not all that much. He runs a 16 inch bar on his most of the time though. You would notice it more with a longer bar, like a 25 inch.

| I do not get it eitrher. Must be some southern hemisphere thing. Also here you cannot lose a spark arrestor, as they take fire control here very seriously. As in if you start a fire, you are liable for the cost of putting it out and any damages that it causes.

I had always wondered what he was talking about. I think you nailed it. That is a 084 hotsaw ported for pipe, gas and racing, not for work. We were just showing pics on the kitchen table.

Ah, I see now. I thought that the comment was about the OP 361 photos, not the hotsaw. Using a piped DN 084 in the woods? Lord no. ![]() I bet that thing can drive a 36 inch bar with authority though. A stock 084 has 8.6 HP. DN screamer like that must have at least 13 HP. |
