well i have spent all my time bashing small saws and buying big ones and now i think i might hafto buy a small one. i am looking at a new job climbing because i cant fall unless i have my cert in BC, wich by the way makes a whole lot of since lol. but anyway what are the 200 t's issues and streingths vs other top handle saws out their? it seems like i have seen some issues with carbys cracking and stuff. is this resolved now? oh and whats a good price for a new saw? |

As to the MS 200 I find no one sells them in my neck of the forest. The MS 192 are more popular around here. My dealer has them for around 400 saw chips. The MS 200 is 700 saw chips. If I went to buy one I would buy the MS 192 and be happy. The reason I say spend less is if it does not work out climbing you have not sunk a huge pile of saw chips on a specialized tool. |

There is more or less nothing you could fault on the 200t i reckon. They are FAR superior to every other top handle saw on the market. Last minimum 6 years using it every working day on good gas and oil. For pruning the 192 is great, for take downs/felling/dismantling the 200t is what you want. Not cheep but the investment is evident in production. |

Keep in mind prices vary from region to region. If you want to start doing tree work sometimes a cheaper model can help make money to buy a better saw. It seems to be that most of the guys I work around love the MS 192 for tree work. I think if you are just doing it to fill in till some other better paying work comes along then a cheaper saw is wise choice. Me i use an old mac 35 top handle for tree work and it is the barely 3 pounds and it has paid for it self many times over. |

Around here, you can find the old metal Homelite Super2's still, great little saws, know one that has been cutting 20 cords a year for 25 years, and I wouldn't cry if I dropped it............ If your going the cheap/reliable route.

1.8kW // 3.3kg................BEAT THAT! It's a contender and it's Italian made, not China.

im a Line clearance tree trimmer, removal of most... we use the top handle MS200T, i've seen most of these guys for the last 10months run the dog snot outta these saws ima talkin cuttin 16, 17inch trees from the bucket or manually we have had only one blow up... an this is everyday....10 hours a day id say for someone like us who would only use it for its primary purpose to trim a-lot it would last well worth the $500-550 US american dollars 200 over the 192 anyday |
