Hi I recently got my great grandfathers Mac 110 chainsaw, been trying to get it running, it runs a little but dies. I don't have an owners manual, but would love to find one, scoured the net to no avail. Can someone help me? There are all kinds of adjustment screws.

can someone email me a copy? shadrogers @hotmail.com

Thanks

Free Mac's IPL'S for download.
Hi guys. I haven't had a lot of time to get my computer reprogrammed again. Thing crashed a while back, and I lot pretty much everything I had on it.
I hope to soon get time to get this done, and get everything rescanned into it again.
Here is a link, that another member posted for a link to IPLs for McCulloch chain saws. I'll get the owners manuals sent to you guys, as soon as I can. Sorry for the delay. Bruce.

Hi there,
Any chance of getting a copy of that owners manual?
I also have a Mac-110 and previously found the parts list but no luck in the owners manual.

OK folks, lets dispell a few myths here.

THERE IS NO "FACTORY" SETTING ON THE CARB SCREWS

Those screws will have to be tweaked to compensate for variations in environmental conditions or engine condition. I would start with both H and L screws about 1.25 turns out from a lightly seated condition.

Mini's generally have a couple of common ailments. The most prolific on those is "no spark." Most of them have points which, of course, can cause altered ignition timing or weak spark and general crappy running. The points are behind the flywheel which you have to "de-shell" the engine to remove. Once you pull the fuel/oil tank off, the oil pump rubber "T" fitting will invariably leak as will the fuel filter O-ring at the bottom of the fuel tank. While you have the engine out of the shell, you might as well just put a diaphragm kit in the carburetor. The second most common issue is hard diaphragms in the carb. Most of these saws see very little use, and spoiled gasoline is common.

Once the points are cleaned/adjusted/changed and you have the carb rebuilt you get to learn the true definition of the word aggravate. If you thought getting the throttle linkage off was fun, putting it back on will be a real treat.

I must agree with the Saw Dr. The owners manual or anything else except experience will not help you with these little saws. Yes, they run great when everything is okay, but if you need to work on one, the first thing that happens is that the engine comes out, and after that, you better fix EVERYTHING while it is out. Why does everybody think that adjusting the carbureator is the answer to any problem. We constantly have people come into my shop that will argue with me that the ONLY thing that is wrong is a carb adjustment, not only on saws, but everything else. If that were the case, I wouldn't need that HUGE toolbox, only a 2.00 screwdriver would do the trick, then everybody could be a mechanic.
Base adjustments for a carb will only get you so far. And for the inexperienced, which the OP must be, or you wouldn't ask this question, you should leave the carb adjustments to a professional or you could burn the saw up, and then where will you be?
Truth is it takes less time to adjust a proper carb in a good fuel system than it did to make this post.(IF you know what you are doing).
Ask someone knowledgeable for help. I adjust(if they will) walk-ins all the time for free, makes US look like we know what we are doing, or, sells more work.....Either way it is good for business, most good saw shops will do the same.

I recently purchased an old Mac 10-10 automatic from a police auction site. It was pretty gummed up with sawdust and I have started its cleanup. I found the link for the parts manual but would also like an actual owners manual, preferrably as a PDF. Can you help?
