I think I've just asked my question in the welcome forum duh !!! I asked about Komatsu Zenoah saws and whether they're worth fixing. Mine appears to have a faulty coil but is in very good condition otherwise Any feedback and opinions appreciated |

Probably not worth fixing, depends on the model. Not a bad saw but they had a coil problem in the older smaller ones, they reckon they've fixed it. Last price I got, years ago was $165 for a coil for a small one. That was from Parklands, but they don't seem to have them on their site now. Saw brands take a bit of work these days. Last I heard Husky/Electrolux took them over. Put it in the shed. |

The only reason I asked the question was that I have a big mango to prune and the Stihl is a bigger saw than the Komatsu. I think your answer has convinced me to struggle on with the Stihl.

Komatsu Zenoah = redmax saws right? I like the ones I have ran. Still own a Redmax 5000 and hard to beat the pricing.

Got a coil for $50 and have plenty of spark now. I think the old saw needs a carby kit, it hasn't been used in years. Managed to prune half the mango and it did the job ok. Still waiting for the rest of the mangoes to either get ripe or for the foxes to finish them off then I'll prune the remainder. Thanks for the reply Wild Dog

It's a little G300TS. Hardly ever had any use, was my partners father's saw and has been sitting in our shed for 8 years and it was sitting in her shed for a few years before that. |

You were lucky. That's the same as mine, after the third coil failed I just put in the dead saw box. It was a good little saw but I had it before the 020T and 200's came out, probably wouldn't seem so good these days. |
