Hi All, I have been gone for a while .... sorry I lost my desk job and found it would be the best time to go off on my own as Lavallee Home & Property Services..... I am in the market for a nice tophandle and am torn between the 192, 200 and 2139. I have heard everyone rave about the stihl .... and I will not argue with them b/c my 023 has been takeing a beating for the last 10 years and is always ready to go. But I also run a 2159 J-red and she is a little bear .... The J-red 2139 has 39cc has a 7.7 lb power head ...... and the 200 is a 35.2cc with a 7.7 lb power head So my question is has anyone run both and what do you think .... I will be buying in the next 2-4 wks and am leaning toward the 2139 by the way ... the 200 is almost $600 and the 2139 is $350 .. not that I am letting $$$$ rule my decision ... but the J-red has always been good to me .... Please help.... |

The 2139 is a Husky 338, different colour, but I've heard guys saying they cut faster than the 338 & 200T. Nobody knows unless they've tried both. It's not speed it's torque. Buy a 200t, and you'll forget about anything else. |

I've run the J-red. And I have to say it's a really good saw. Good power easy to clean, bur only one problem. ![]() The dealer for the J-red is a 30 min drive. The one for the stihl is 10 min. So that's why I get the 200. And that's a fine thing to. Almost all the arborist I now have it and I didn't hear a lot of complains about it. So why not spent a little bit more money and your sure you run a good saw. Good luck whit it |

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the CS2135t and the CS2139t. Both have identical specs as far as I can tell, maybe the 2139 replaced the 2135 ?????

Well I bought a Jred cs2135t... and picked it up last saturday for a job I needed it for Monday. It is light a nd power packed I used it all day Monday and most of tuesday and most of the time didn't notice it was on muy belt. I have a 12" bar on it and had no problem with tearing through 14" sections of the sugar maple I was doing a take down on over a garage. .....

Add a 9/16th tube to the muffler, on the lower half, angled downward. Make a hole in plastic cover for it. retune carb..gain 20-40% in cut speed. | |

I was thinking about getting a 2nd muffler for my cs2159 and having that done, but you think I sholud have it done to the 2135t also? Now all it is is a piece of most likely chromemoly tub now is it 9/16 id or od? and how far inside the muffler does it stick and how far out of the muffler do I put it? Then I just need a digital tach a nd tune it to what specs Jreds or do you have targer rpms that work better?

The tube doesn't need to extend in at all, and out just inside the plane of the plastic cover, in which you will have made a hole. Just tune it to ear, same four cycling burble that you should be experiencing currently, only louder. I have a tach and tune it to 13,800. Appx 9/16th size, id or od, will be fine. Both saws will respond favorably to mods....why spend on another muffler? You'll not want to run the saw stock after porting that muffler. Should only take a short time to do the work, when you've found someone to do it.

Thanks I have a friend that races jet powered cars and I helped him build his latest a jet powered ambulance( Vehicles ) I think he would have no problem doing the welding for me….. does it matter if the tube points down or straight out away from the saw??? |

I just finished a nice little mod on my 023 and started to look at my cs2159 and it looks like the 2 halves of the muffler are brazed together .... so I am going to cut it open remove the inner baffle and tube that goes to the exhaust port, then hog the oem opening out as big as I can go and still have the stk screen cover the mod Am I going in the right direction????? |

well I feel like an ass so it seems that there is limited Jred tools avail for the west coast on there site. I would atleast ask the dealers if they could get one for you. If they cant, I would buy one here for you and ship it to you. |

Why not? we would just have to work out the payment for the saw and the shipping
