By the sounds of it, you are in need of a carburetor repair kit. As for the parts, there is some availability for them yet, on eBay. I'd start with a carburetor repair kit first. Bruce.

You can still get carburetor repair kits for them. Just get the number off of the carburetor, and take it with you, when you go to get one.

You can possibly get a new carburetor, but they can be a bit pricey. Rebuilding a carburetor, isn't to difficult to do, and the cost of the rebuild kit, is under $20.00.
Once you take it apart, to rebuild, just pay attention, to how it comes apart, and put it back together with the new gaskets, and metering diaphragm, along with the new metering needle valve..
I'd be more than happy, to guide you through the rebuilding process, if you need any help with it. Bruce.

I found this post that I had started a while ago, on rebuilding a carburetor, made easy. This is a very informative and detailed directions, to rebuilding a carburetor. Follow these steps, and you will do OK.
Once you are ready to do the metering needle valve, let me know, and I'll walk you through the process of setting it up, because this carburetor, that is in the following link, is a bit different, then the one on your chain saw, but follow the rest of the directions, and you will do just fine, with the rebuild of the carburetor. Bruce.

Are you getting any fuel to the carburetor? I would first make sure the fuel line is not broken off inside the tank.

Replace the fuel lines and filter first. If that doesn't fix it, then buy a carb kit. They are easy and simple to rebuild. Just pay attention to how it comes apart.
