Hello to all, this is my first post here looking for some help with a husky 55. I recently put a cylinder and piston in this saw and have not been able to get it to idle or come up on rpm's. I have tried to adjust carb, I set both high and low screws at 1 and a quarter turns out saw will start end run for a few seconds then die restarts easy but won't stay running. When you put throttle to it it just falls flat and stalls. Any help would be great Thanks

Sounds to me like massive air leak. Get it pressure tested.

Did you replace the carb and cylinder gaskets?Maybe blown carb seal or bad crankseal?

Thanks for the replys, I had an extra carb and tried that first saw starts and runs now but hunts at idle. Will tinker with carb some more. I dont have very many hours on this saw since the piston and cylinder replacement so I may run a few tanks of fuel through it and then start adjusting again. I think I'am safe at the one and a quarter turns out for now and once I get some hours on it will go from there. Any secrets on adjusting the carbs would greatly be appreciated. Thanks again for the help and I'm enjoying the forum looks to offer alot of info from some knowledgeable people.

If there's an air leak you wont tune it right plus it will run lean and possibly score the piston etc. Get is pressure tested.

if 2 jets, then turn both jets all the way in then give them 2 full turns out.

Ekka is right on. Sounds like a leaking pulse line or intake manifold tube. You can check them both by manually blowing air into them while you block off the other end, you can tell if they hold pressure or not. Good luck

i don't think th 55 has an impulse tube,my 51 doesn't.As far as i know, the only difference is the bore on the two saws.
