Didn't know about them till now.

I knew the 335T and 338 etc but how much does this one cost in comparison?

Info on the net says like Stihls 192T's etc it's a cheaper design.

I've had one for about a year now and put it through the test results were good. A few issues I have with it, I would perfer a lanyard ring like on the 192T instead of a slot in the back of the handle not a big issue but it would be better I think. The air filter is in the front of the saw and needs to be cleaned out very often more so than the 192T. I am not a stihl fan at all but between the two saws I run the 192T 60% of the time. Power is about equal between the 2 saws.

The 338xpt replaced the 335xpt - the 334t is a lesser alternative to the 338xpt.

There are some evidence that they finally got it right with the latest generation 338xpt, as they did with the NE339xp.

I suspect the 334t was discontinued at about the same time.

I have two of them and have only had a small problem with one of them. It was
scared of height. It would run good on the ground but when you got it up in a tree more than 25 ft off the ground it would not start at all. But I got that strighten out. the handle on are not that good have had to replace them once on both saws. Other than that I've had good service from them. One I have a 14in.bar the other I run a 16in.bar.

I have one as a back up saw. Nothing but problems with the oiler (doesn't oil enough). Took it back to the shop I bought it from, they didn't want to fix it but eventually did. Stays on the shelf 99% of the time. Definitely would not recommed this saw.

Try drilling the hole on the oil pump,i did it to my 141 and got almost double the oil output.Use a drill bit that is one size bigger than the hole.

I got a 338XPT for the same reason, I feel sorry for anyone with a 334. Sometimes I use it when it's raining so I don't get my Stihl's wet.

I'm looking into getting a 338.I'm also husky biased so a 200t is out of the picture.

You guys must treat your saws like crap or got a friday saw. I have a 334 and its an awesome saw. I think it would give a 200 a run for its money. I have never had a problem with the saw other than it gets cold quick.

Thumbs up Re: husky 334T?

I've heard that the 335xpt have more power and suppose to be a much better saw. I think I'm going to get one. But my next saw I'm going too replace the 455rancher with is going to be a 575xp.

im as orange as they come, i have a 338 its a good saw but there is a better one out there, i find that its really nose heavy and isnt balanced properly but on the bright side that promotes keeping both hands on it at all times. i so wanted to like the 338 more then the 200 but i just dont, i feel like im cheating when i use a stihl ha ha. i think your best bet is to save your money and buy a 200 and a can of husky orange spraypaint maybe some decals as well.

The saw you want is the 2139 Jonsy if you are stateside.....I don't have the dealer's name handy. (he is spike60 on AS...) $350, same saw as the 338, but way cheaper, for some reason.

I have 11 years experience running these once problematic saws. Most problems are long since solved....oiler is dead on solid now, starting and running issues gone....back cover now held on with a screw.......

more power than a 200T, once the muffler has had a 9/16th port added. a tad lighter....better anti vib, maybe...

only niggling issue is the fact that the saw still need to be choked after being shut off for a couple minutes.......but, they start on the second crank...thanks to a primer bulb (not hokey) starts on 3rd or 4th crank if its not primed.....

I also have some 335 Cali's....they have torque but no added power, even when muffler ported...as they have the same size carb and engine ports to go with a 45 cc motor, so they run like a detuned saw.

I'll prolly never buy another new 200T,not at $550-600 versus $350, when the 2139 will out cut it......and I know the engines are bombproof and will last and last.

This is the smaller of the two climb saws......only 2 hp. The 338 or 2139 Jonsy is the one to get.

Here's a video I made last summer, when my 2139 was new....It is $250 less than the 200T, dead on reliable, and faster once muffler ported.

I've run Husky climb saws for 11 years...put up with all the problems, and learned from them....Great saw. I'll not buy another 200T, new anyhow.

Even with both saws running the same chain the 2139 still comes out on top....It should, it has at least 3 cc larger engine, and more torque, and only 1500 less rpm...so it might be slower in small wood......but less rpm means less heat, and better longevity....

Thanks, Troll!!

He's only on AS, AFAIK.......

I'll have to look him up, and link to his site..or at least post his store name and number.

However, discretion is needed, as mail sales of many saws brands are now frowned upon or prohibited.
