Hp carburetors, and parts have been obsolete for over 30 some years now. I don't know where you will find an IPL's for your chain saw either. Something that old will be hard to find. Bruce.

Trouble with these types of carburetors, you won't be able to mount on another carburetor onto the motor. I was looking at my chain saw, that has the same carburetor, and there is no way to hook one up. There is a pulse line, that runs from the engine, back to the carburetor, and no other carburetor has that hook up.
I've gotten a lead on a couple people that might have parts for this carburetor yet.
I know that there is a possibility of someone making a new diaphragm, with the old metal disc, but I have to dig into it more. I'll keep you informed, if you like, and see what I can do.
I too have a chain saw here that I'd like to get running too. Here is an information link on your carburetor, and your chain saw. Take care. Bruce.

My Dad had a Strunk chain saw one time. It was either a Custom Pro, or it was a Big Timber Pro. These were the only two models that sported a 30" bar, and chain.
In 1974, Dad tried to get his chain saw to start, and had no luck. The diaphragms had rotted away, and at that time, the parts for and the HP carburetors, where already obsolete.
Dad tossed the chain saw, but wished that he had kept it, and so do I. I now have two Strunk Chain saws, one with the HP carburetor, and the other one with an MD carburetor.
Trying to source out these parts can be hard to find, and I'm looking down every avenue, to locate these parts. I'm hoping to track someone down that might have some old stock parts yet. Keeping my fingers crossed. Bruce.

I've sent him an email with all the information that I had, about Mike's website, pointed out links for him to study, from the forum side of Mike's website.
Sometimes it doesn't hurt to double up on things, to make sure all the bases are covered. Thanks for your extra input. Bruce.
