Oil Mixtures are usually in your Operators Manual. If you do not have an Operators Manual, you might find what you are looking for here. I hope this helps. Bruce. Chain Saw Collectors Corner - Gasoline Chain Saws by Manufacturer .

That site is the holy grail of chainsaws. Every member here must put that site in their favorites.
Check out the 1957 IEL RA and see how close it resembles the 1959 Stihl Contra [Lightening]. I think some big company copied off a little Canadian company.
Also check out Norway's 1948 Jo-Bu Senior, the worlds first lightweight one man chain saw, also the 1952 lightweight Jo-Bu Junior.
But the most interesting saw is Norway's 1949 Comet model "A" diesel saw at only 18 lbs with 35cm bar/chain included. Its under the last Comet listing:Comet[NORSK SAGBLADD FABRIKK] Comet "A".

My Great Uncle always mixed his Oil/Gas Mix, in two gallon mixes @ 40:1. He used 1 full gallon, and Nine Tenths of the second gallon. He always said that a little more Oil would never hurt, not at this Ratio of Gas. Since all we get now is Unleaded Gas, and switching over to Ethanol Gas, before too many Years from now, will all we can get.
I mix my Oil/Gas Mix in 5 Gallon Mixes (up here in Canada 20 Liters) at a time @ 40:1, with Stihl Premium Oil Mix. I use 18 Liters of Gas. Sure I have a little more Smoke, but I would rather have it that way than have it too Lean on the Oil part.
My McCulloch Mac 10-10 Automatic, Pro Mac 60 and Pro Mac 700, have been running that way since they were Broke in new. My Mac 10-10 Automatic, is over 40 Years old.
This is the way my Great Uncle figured was the best, and I have never Changed any habits. My Great Uncle was a General Mechanic for a great many years before he Passed Away, and he did a lot of repair on Chain Saws, Farm Tractors, Old Black and White Televisions, and I could go on, as well Experiments, and Research for himself. He was a walking Genius, and could almost fix anything. Bruce.
