Oooh, I didn't notice that before quercus... You have the polesaw harness. What does that go for? I tried it with the 4 stroke pole pruner on at GreenX 2006 and it was great.. They said they were bringing em' into Australia yet a year later we finally have the 4 stroke Pole pruner but no harness... (That's based off my local dealer & his knowledge) Back on topic, I think my favorite is Stihl but I really like the Husky's too. We run mainly Stihl's with a Husky 365 (Great saw IMO). But at class All the rear handle saws were husky aswell as the majority of top handles with a Few 192's and 200's in there. That's where I picked up my liking for Husky's.

i've had both stihl and husky tore down and i repaired and i think husky are better built machines but in my opinion should be tore completely down and cleaned really good.

Nope that's not the polesaw harness. I didn't buy the long polesaw from stihl because it doesn't fit in the van. I've got a 19 feet Silky though. Lighter and better. I've got the polesaw and 1 extension piece from the combi sytem and that works out great. | |

johndee, here in the uk there are two harnesses for the stihl pole pruner; one is similar to the comfort harness for their brushcutters and the other is based on the same principles as the steadicam system that you often see sports cameramen wearing on golfcourses or the touchline at a RUGBY game (sorry couldnt resist the dig, it was a good game though). penfol |

My new favorite polesaw is made by ARS, telescopic, 3 piece, that can be taken apart. I put a scabrd on it with a beaner. Then a piece of webbing to attach it to my harness. That way I dont have to worry its going to fall out of the tree while hanging. I'v herd horror stories about polesaws falling and the blade slashing people.

No poll option related. I buy Stihl and Husky. Had pre-mature breakdowns with each, but not as bad as the premature engine destruction of my first Dolmar. Too bad for the Dolmar guy, as the dealer was bragging on and on about how great they were. So I like two brands near equal. |

I have mostly stihls i i really like them but started climbing with a jonsared lighter then my stihl260 and a hell of a lot more horsepower. but the Jonsered was broke twice the on/off switch and the trigger. but the saw does get used a lot in the tree and may gets banged around.

Used a 2171 for three years, great saw. But I like the 361 better because it's more advanced, and a little smoother. If I had to go back to the J-red, I could.

I Currently have a Stihl saw and Echo pole pruner. And an old MCCULLOCH Pro Mac 850 manual oiler. Question in relation to favorite brand of saws. Ekka what type of saws do you prefer to use in and around trees and also on Cocos Palms. Do you use different pitch chain on palms compaired to trees. |
