| I have mostly stihls i i really like them but started climbing with a jonsared lighter then my stihl260 and a hell of a lot more horsepower. but the Jonsered was broke twice the on/off switch and the trigger. but the saw does get used a lot in the tree and may gets banged around.

| I Currently have a Stihl saw and Echo pole pruner. And an old MCCULLOCH Pro Mac 850 manual oiler. Question in relation to favorite brand of saws. Ekka what type of saws do you prefer to use in and around trees and also on Cocos Palms. Do you use different pitch chain on palms compaired to trees. |

| I'v worked for a couple different companys which ran a stihls and husky. Never had much prefernce for either. both good machines. Well until now. The guy I work for is better then most on maintaining equipment but we cant get through 2 jobs without one of the huskys going down. Its a ongoing joke. The muffler falls of or the trigger breaks. He runs two stihl ground saws and two 200t trim saws. no problems. The husky groun saw and husky falling saw are problematic. I herd when husky sold out to wall-mart, Lowes, home depot. Their product went down hill. I will say my 338xp has taken down many trees and i to this day have Never had a problem with it. Are chainsaws Like cars. Some bad models are put out so buyer beware? Im still waiting for my Honda. Well any Japanese motorcycle company to put out a chainsaw. Not Shindawa. ![]() |

| Stihl and Toyota loyal... Try putting 420K miles on an original unrebuilt engine on a Chevy, ford, mitsubishi or isuzu. my 028 and 011 are over 20 years old and are running strong with regular preventative maintenance. I'm actually TRYING to wear out the 028... I think I've almost got it shot. It's what I cut all the crappy stuff with. The 011 I'm babying because it's got more power than my 200T. More torch it feels like, never see the 011 around anymore but I'll keep mine running as long as it'll gasp breath. Bars/chains are interchangeable between the 361 and 028, and the 011 and w200T. Makes them versatile. Been given 4 Poulans now, of all sizes. Which, has got to tell you something if people are giving them away but holding onto their Stihl's and Husky's.

| As far as big saws go, it's got to be Stihl. When I say big, 18" bars +. I have used both Husky and Stihl top handles, but as far as they go, I prefer my Oleo Mac 932 and 925. The 925 is great for high canopy work. It's smaller than an ms200t and power to weight ratio, more umphh!. ![]() I know I'm just gonna get slated for saying that, but, it's down to what the individual prefers.

| Usually you remove the spark plug and install a piston stop. This stops the crank turning and allows yo uto unscrew the clutch. BEWARE, usually left hand thread. If you don't have access to a piston stop, put the piston to Bottom dead Centre, fill the cylinder with oil and replace plug. This will lock the engine up. when clutch job is finished, remove plug, empty out oil and flush clean with fuel. Allow to dry out for a while before re starting. May blow smoke for a few seconds after starting, then clear up.
