I Have A Cs440 Echo, 20 Inch Bar.ok Saw But When I Bought A Chain
At Home Depot, Master Care, It Had A 3/16 Cutter. Next Blade , Lowes, Was An Oregon, 7/32 Cutter. Seems To Cut Better, Was The
3/16 Wrong Chain Or Is This Something I Need To Watch For
When Purchasing? Here In Tennessee Ther Seems To Be Nowhere To
Buy Chains But Big Box Stores. Thanks

OK, Chain is measured by Pitch. Pitch is determined by the Space between the Centers of Three Consecutive Rivets on the Chain Connectors, and Dividing by 2. This Starts at 1/4", 3/8" Low profile, .325", 3/8" Pitch and .404" Pitch, for an example.
Now for where the 3/16", and the 7/32" comes into play, is the Recommended Diameter of the File Size, used to sharpen the Cutter, of the Chain.

440 Echo usually runs .325 pitch X .050 gauge chain. 18 inch bar uses a .325 chain with 72 driver links and 20 inch bar runs 78 DL.

Driver links are counted on the bottom of the chain.

Best wishes,
Sharkey
