Talking Echo CS 345

Got one of the CS 345 for 55 saw chips. Now I am really feelin a littlte that I got a low hour saw so cheap. It has a 16" and and safety chain. What made the thing crawl into my hands was the weight Now to the point what is the bad on thesse little things????????? Will these perc up any with a muffler mod? I am worried the adjustble oiler is not big enough for a 16" bar So please tell me I did not just do something totaly smart

Hi Super,
The older Echo design models 300/301/341/345/346/3400 etc Im thinking have the small reed valve intake. You can open the muffler a little, but after that your just making more noise. Those engines were made to be reliable, easy starting, long lasting and so on but not fast. The newer piston ported designs seem to be changing that though. Keep your chain sharp. If nothing else, no one should try to steal it!

Sounds like the same reason I bought this 2100 poulan.

Never seen one before, but is built off the poulan 2000 33cc top handle saw that weighed 7.5lbs PHO. The rear handled version 2100 has coil spring av.

This thing is so well balanced I am I love the weight . I do a lot of ground limbing so i needed a light saw. Well this thing cuts ok other then the riders need to be droped a few thous. Can not believe the muffler has a large volume outlet. What do people mean by this being a reed engine?

if your referring to a reed valve engine. the fuel\air mix enters in the crank case by the reed valve in stead of the cylinder as in a piston ported [modern] saw. the older saws such as mcculloch's and pioneers had reed valves. reed engine = less rpm's but more grunt. IMO.

Maybe we should start a thread of who we have had good transactions with and ones that are thieves = take our hard earned cash and dont send the merchandise etc.

That way we can keep the Dishonest ones at bay.

If we are honest with each other on our deals I dont see the problem.

I know I would like to know who to avoid like the plague when sending my hard earned money out.

On a positive note. I have had several dealing with stihl kickin and he is one straight up honest guy to deal with. Thank You for the many smooth transactions we have had lately. From saw purchases to parts.

If we have an issue with some let us pm them first and get the facts before saying things that can be considered slander.

What in the world are you talking about?

Maybe a PM to me would help me understand why you are against this. I'm lost on this end.
