Default Echo 260TES/Shindaiwa 269TS

Hi all, I'm looking to replace my Makita 231T & am just wondering if anyone has had any issues with the Echo 260TES/Shindaiwa 269TS (same saw in different colours)? All Power have the red version on special ATM & I can get one for $445.

I use the smaller, lighter TH saw for a specific task. The Makita is useless in the hot weather as it gets bad vapour lock.

Cheers,

Kevin.

got the 269ts, its ok. Good for palm pruning and small limbs up to 5/6in (max) struggles after that. if you cut anything bigger than 6in on regular basis go straight to a 201T.

It freed up nicely after about 10hrs but before that i wasnt happy. I only paid $417 for mine. new from dealer.

Thanks Rob, I'll use the price you bought it for as a bargaining chip How long have you had it mate? 6in branches is a lot better than the 231t, it struggles with anything bigger than your wrist. Cheers, Kevin

this one about a year? done about 120hrs im guessing?, i like it for palms because its light as piss and powerful enough de-fronding. Then i go to my love, the 044 with 16in bar. Although i do occasionally use a 260 for blocking down.
