For mine would like a new chainsaw, but the law being the law, repair is the warranty policy of ALL brands.

Long as its done right and they are warranting it i dont see the issue

So...DBE,
I am a dealer. I have experienced many personalities of shall we say...your type. I have a question for you. If this thread is not deleted as you have requested, when the next moon cycle drives your need to complain, will your next screen name on another site be Don't Post On Tree World?

LOL, that's what many disgruntled do when I ban them, slowly the gene pool of idiots builds elsewhere which makes me happier.

It is rare that I delete entire threads.

What is worse is when somebody gets the leverage they wanted (motive) and achieves their goal (which happened) then wants all evidence of that gone (asked for).

Back in my credit collection days a bad payer was default listed with CRA (Credit Reference Association), they'd try to get another loan but would be refused based on their credit history of an unpaid default. Do you know how many whiners I heard wanting that default not amended to paid but totally removed? It was like blackmail, "I will pay only if you remove the default" .... "sorry Sir, we will change the record to paid".

There is a lot of other good posts, a lot of people both praise and discount Echo as expected of any brand loyalty. The dealer walks away looking good so I think it's a win all around. I also used to run Echo 350T and I would take one of them over a Stihl 192T or a Shindaiwa 357 anyday.

As to whether the dealer replaces or repairs, that is really their discretion, however if they choose to repair good customer service would mean a loan saw for the interim.

I know the 200t's are a great saw, with more power than the Echo. It's a business desision...simple as that. I have a cs300 that's over 10years old with no problems. Two cs341's, a cs330T, and a cs670. 17 years in business and I've only purchased seven saws, and i still have five of them. Very little maintenance, although the newer cs341's suck.

There is a moble truck now that works on Sthils, so I have been looking at my next purchase to be a Sthil a 200T.

I still do that with bad debtors Eric I've got one ATM who thinks she is sooooo clever. I did a job for her, went to get paid & she asked for an invoice. We did the rounds about cash on completion, but she's got no cash to give me. I reluctantly left an invoice. Now still no money forthcoming, house is empty & mobile disconnected. She played me like a fiddle! Just wait till she goes to rent another house, or buy something on credit! It ain't going to happen!

Years ago i had a new Stihl 190T that leaked oil from a distorted thread/neck on the oil tank. Tank replaced under warranty, no new saw, wouldn't have really expected one either.

I have a real old echo blower too that just keeps going. It must be over 10 yrs too, and i think i might have got it second hand even... Had an echo hedgetrimmer that did alright too. Never owned an echo saw, but used a top handle one once that was light & pretty punchy.

Re homeowner saws, i'd recommend a good second hand stihl over anything else.
The best thing is that every little part is replaceable. Usually only takes one small part to fail on a Bunnings saw to write it off.

You sir are a dickhead. Personalities of my type hey. If the thread is not deleted, it is no skin off my nose. I only asked because I thought it was the right thing to do seeing as the company sorted the problem.

Ban away, I only came on this site to ask the question about my saw.
What are you on about with your little 'motive, goal and evidence' speech. The problem was sorted by me ringing the owner/manager of the store I purchased from not by me putting the thread on this site. As stated above, it doesn't bother me whether the thread is deleted or not. It was more out of respect for the company for sorting the problem, not for me.
I guess I'll be back when I want some more assumtions made about myself.

DBE,
If you only had questions, your screen name would have been different...
Thanks for the laugh, we are celebrating my elevated stature here and opening another beer in your...ahem...honor! I thought I was just an a$$hole! You can't imagine how pleased I am to get another stripe!!!
THIS IS AWESOME!!!!
Eric,
I think he or she (can't tell based on the hormonal difficulties) really will go elsewhere and the screen name will be "Don't Post On Treeworld"
This thread has now become fun....Any side bets on which site IT will show up on?!? C'mon guys do play it along...
OMG this is so rich!!!

Signed,
Sir Dickhead

PS...
Thanks DBE for Playing, You Rock!!!
PSS...
If I'm in trouble for this one Eric, please let me know. I just couldn't resist!!!

Ahh I just noticed the reason why you are so arrogant, you're an American.
Your small mind makes assumtions about me that are founded on what, the fact that I came on here with the name I did and asked what people thought of Echos' warranty. Also the fact that I asked for the thread to be deleted.
What gives you the impression I would waste my time going on another site to badmouth this one.
As stated before I had nothing to gain from the thread being deleted, I simply thought it was the right thing to do.

Phew, I got off light, least I am not a dick head.

Best to have a speech because if I just wrote "not deleting it" then you'd not understand my reasoning and perhaps think I was arrogant too.

You came with these pertinent goods in your opening post.
Quote:
Personally I wouldn't recommend them at all considering their warranty process.

What does everyone think about their warranty?
Should they Repair it or Replace it?
Now that is motive.

And achieving the goal was getting the saw replaced.

And getting rid of the gripe is evidence of the event gone.

I think it was a fair summation and I also wrote:-

Quote:
The dealer walks away looking good so I think it's a win all around.
I think the thread is OK to stay, but if it keeps going down the track it is then we might have to either delete it or clean it up.

Hey DBE, what did you buy an chainsaw for anyway, what are you cutting etc? Maybe start another thread etc.

I only joined for the sole purpose of finding out what everyones thoughts were on the issue of my saw which is now a non-issue.
On that note, have a good one.

Unless there are legal issues i.e. slander within a thread they stay otherwise eric would be constantly removing threads because someone didn't like it.
it also acts as a reference tool for anyone who is searching for problems with thier echo saw and can see how it happened to someone else. so it can be very helpful

I hear what you're saying Garry, however some others voted for the thread to stay, but that was before it got ugly. I just put an opposing point of view.

To me, one of the outstanding things about Tree World is the professionalism displayed throughout the entire site. It's the best forum of it's type on the web.

I just spent 45minutes writing this post, I don't read posts like that elsewhere. I might tidy this one up and remove the profanities, but for now I want DBE to feel the heat because he just came into our house and crapped all over it.
