A large hardware store chain in Australia is selling a petrol chainsaw for $99.00. It is top handeled and sold as a pruning saw and only 25cc but I raise the question does it have its use at that price ? I know that most of you would never even look at a saw like this, however I am ashamed to admit it I LOVE A BARGIN, I will be the first to admit that 99 percent of this stuff is crap. However having said that I am 100% happy with my $99.00 blower and a $500.00 dollar telescopic (echo stihl rippoff) pole saw. Both of these get light use the blower probably 1 hour a week and the pole saw 15 minutes on average. And most unbelievably parts are available for these two things if something does break (which I know it will). Even if the saw was a total waste of time the bar and chain alone would have to be worth $50 woudn't they? Once again I know almost all of you won't touch this stuff and thats fine Would it be irresponsible to advertise Free Chainsaw with every job over $1000.00 ? I couldnt do it because of fear the unexperienced operator would hurt themselves, however there's nothing illegal about it and it would probably work as a gimmick. The chinese are also making copies of stihls huskys and even wood chippers which I admit is pretty scary, but remember when japanese cars were crap? |

Wait, let me get this straight. A tree care person, advertising the giving away of a FREE chainsaw with every job over $1K? What would possess you to give these people a saw? The least that could happen is that they'd decide they don't need your services anymore afterwards, because now "they have a saw". Go watch some YouTube videos of RegularJoe who just brought home <gasp> a chainsaw!! They exist out there, and they're pathetic and scary. The thought struck me that most people are also able (in many countries) to go out and buy a gun. It doesn't necessarily mean that they should all have one though. How about you just give them a $99 coupon for future work ? What am I missing here? |

I gotta agree with Ken and Jay here, giving an unexperianced person a chainsaw is a very bad decsion,I'm not sure how it works in oz but around here if they hurt them selves, they would most likely sue you for everything your great grandkids will have.
