LOL

Like had to happen eventually and it's not good business to send members elsewhere.

There's Chainsaw Collectors.se :: Index which has a lot of historic saws and some good guys and help there.

And there's AS where that area is about 50% of the boards activity ... but you do get a bit sick of, "should I buy a Poulan or Craftsman? Does a 0.058" bar fit a 0.063" chain?

However, there's also a bunch or normal people who use saws daily and talk about it. That's probably me except I talk about it very little.

But I'm still having trouble with that bloody HT75 Pole Pruner. It's better but it aint perfect. The chain seems to have it's own brain, from tight to hanging out 1/2", bought a new bar, new drive sprocket etc .... all is good, everything is running true.

I then filed the aluminium faces flat and that helped but it's still a little odd how the chain can vary so much all in one tank of juice.

I climb with a 200T 14" lightweight bar, cheap groundsaw is ms250, palm saw is ms440 (preferable over 441), wood saws ms460 and ms660

Mainly Stihl here, but have a couple of Huskis, 268, 2101, 3120.
Probably my all time favorite was 2100, long dead now, may he rest in peace.

The first 335's turned me off Husky for a while.

Yes I am a member of as and frequent the chainsaw collector. This site is cool as well I can check on that pole pruner tommorrow at work seems to me we covered a problem similiar to that.Running 61pmn chain I presume and have matching sprockets would be the first thing I checked.

I run the same bar as the 200T but 12", same chain, is 3/8 picco I think not that skinny 3/8 micro they run on there originally (also they run it on the 191T). Sprocket is still 3/8 pitch but chain a bit wider however my mates saw does the same and he's got original micro chain still on it.

Yeah, the 3120 comes in handy, also have an 090 stihl. They don't get used every day, but with big timber no saw is too big, especially our hardwoods here. The 3120 comes in handy for ripping the big stuff for the 18" chipper.

my uncle had an ht 75 polesaw and it had the same problems with the chain. It was brand new when I used it but i personally don't like polesaws I'd rather climb and make the cut that way i'm sure its a proper cut.Just my 2 cents.

I switched to Stihl once, then had a premature breakdown with, where the handle cracked apart for no reason - no impact, no temperature extremes, etc..

As for Husky, I've had a premature breakdown with one too.
Both breakages were within one week to one month.

Right now I have 3 small / medium saws: An Echo, a Stihl and a Husky. All have a few years left in them.

After we get back to Portland, I would like to get a Husqvarna 3120 XP with a 24" to 32" bar, merely for cutting up fallen trees when I subcontract with another arborist who climbs.

Basically, the saw will just be a huge butterknife.

Heavier to lift, but more weight on each down-cut.

I'm bit of a stihl man myself. 019's, 020's, 036's, 361's, 044's, 066's.
Hate to admit I once bought a 039....absolute crap.
HT75 Pole saw. I think everyone has had problem with the cahins on these. Seems like the oil pumps like to go. At $95AUD not a cheap remedy. Add to this the chain has a mind of its own!!!

My mate bought a new one, it does the same!

Also, for cleaning out the oil thingo every now and then I run fuel through it, have bar an chain off and make sure it's clean through and pumping. Sometimes the little gauze filter thing gets blocked a bit, right PITA to get too. But that doesn't stop the chain being crazy.

One thing to remember with ht75s is the drive links clear just enough to keep the oil hole clear once there worn just a bit they dont
