Which saw would be better for climbing (mostly blocking down)? The 44 looks more sturdier, like it will take a bit more of a beating than the 46 but on the other hand the 46 has that extra 7cc of power and those very nice dogs. Also the 44 just looks a hell of a lot more nicer than the 46. I have used a 46 in the tower before, mean mofo, would be perfect for blocking down. Going to go the American way to get a saw and save me a hell of a lot of money. |

[QUOTE=Apocalypsse;69508]Also the 44 just looks a hell of a lot more nicer than the 46.QUOTE] Always a good criteria ![]() Btw... you can put double-dawgs +roll chain catcher on any stihl saw just about, as an add-on kit. Where are ya getting your final choice from? Want a quote on both? |

He's busy slaving away climbing and cutting trees at $10/hr last I heard. Poor guy. Maybe all the coffee, cigarettes, booze, and (dreaming of) sex finally did him in. *shrugs* who knows? All I know is he said he was gonna be gone for a while. |

Go the 460 i reckon. The 441 is just a heavier 440 with a few refinements. The old 440 was a ripper saw though and if you could still get them it would be my choice for a blocking saw to use aloft. Powerful and light. The 460 has more grunt, if you're gonna lug the weight anyway, might as well have the most power you can. Forget the $50 difference |
