This cheap, electric option had real promise for us 'amateurs'. But it's gone. In my googling, I came across an employment court ruling between the Petersons that made me think there has been a major falling out and the 'elecky swingblade sawmill that could' would not be available for a while, but I didn't think it would be away from the market this long. Does anyone with any knowledge of the fate of the skillmill care to share what's going on? I had high hopes for this little mill. It seems like such an awesome concept. One that I might be able to afford long before I could afford anything else. |

Yeah, but I can't help but wonder whether it's been seen as a threat to their other lines and has been buried as a result? "The Skillmill is currently being redeveloped" and no news, updates or press releases on Peterson's website about this skillmill for many, many months leave me questioning whether it will ever be allowed back into the market. I haven't read any current skillmill owner complaining about their purchase or any particular fault. Seems a shame. |

If you do happen to find out about its release, could you post the results here please? The Sheila's in the Shed are not too happy hanging on to the other end of my 660 but I reckon they would go banana's for the Skilmill. Might even give Petersens a ring myself. From what I remember there were some OSH concerns with it. Arfa Menzshed |

Just got a reply from them: "The official word from the boss is as follows: The Skillmill will most likely be re-developed and re-released with a slightly larger 6" cut, and a beefier frame. Probably over the next 12-16 months ex an American company under license." |

One's just been listed on trademe here Unfortunately, a splitter is next on the to-buy list so I'll have to banish all thoughts of buying a sawmill for a little while yet. | |

I have tried getting an update on the Skillmill but nothing. Does anyone know anything? If the Skillmill will make a 6" cut with accuracy, I will buy one. I am looking at the LT10/LT15, but would really like a swingblade that would also allow me to use my Alaskan mill. Cost is also important since it will only be a hobby mill. |
