Default South Australia Burl (Gum)

Hey All,

I have some South Australian Gum Burl and was looking to sell it. Im not sure exactly though how to sell it or who to. So a heads up would be great - Any Ideas??

I've seen them Ebay'd

Also, do you do this frequently or is this a one off?

I havent ebayed them??? Dont know why you'd say that.

Its a one-off otherwise if it was something I did regularly then I be pretty bad at my job of I had to ask everytime where to sell the stuff.

thats not a burl.... this burl grow right around the jarrah tree! 1.5mt wide and over 2.5mt long. Now thats a burl!!! Oh weighed in at 2.3tonne when it was whole, pic was taken half way through slabbing it.











Darn had hoped the jpg logo would have disappeared when it was posted

Great pic!

Actually the smaller ones are worth selling - people make bowls, pens, vases etc not just tables which is what I'd assume that slab would be useful for. Theres a great website called Australian Burl (he exports burl from western aust I think to the US) where there are many smaller pieces.

Eric - read your comment the wrong way - Yes Ebay would be an option and people do Ebay them but I was thinking surely theres a more specialized site out there for people in the woodworking business or hobbists (sp?)

You could sell it as a bowl with the big whole that is already in it!
