Default Cookies for campfires

What makes them preferred over regular logs? Hear this often and was just wondering.

Errr, what are you talking about "cookies" over logs? Is a cookie some sort of cut firewood or something?

cookies are round cutoffs of logs think of it like slicing an onion

I call them Pucks first slice off the log to square the end..?

i thought about cutting some of the bigger stuff like that to give it a try . dont know why it wouldnt work . i cut up an elm that my splitter wont split unless i place a small round in behind it so the wedge on the ram can split completly through it . the base of it was over 40 inches across . i split it sideways with the saw and still had three wedges stuck in it . have it setting out to dry befor i try it again . but cutting it in 6 or 8 inch thick rounds and then splitting might be the anser . h
