Default Bulk firewood

Hi,
I am a firewood reseller just north of Sydney NSW. I am looking for some bulk firewood for sale.

Does anyone have any contacts with sawmills or big producers of quality split and seasoned hardwood or ironbark.

I generally get 30-40 tonnes per month off current suppliers, however they have been unreliable of late.

I am looking for new ones.

Hi guys, Im in Southern Victoria and am thinking about staring a firewood Delivery Business. I was wondering if any of you could help me out with some additional information? To summarize, I want to receive the chopped\split firewood in bulk, and load it into my truck and deliver it, possibly stack it for the customer.
What other tools\machinery would I require? So far I understand that I would need obviously the land to store the bulk wood, a front end loader to load the truck or trailer and suitable tipper truck or trailer.

Do you generally store the bulk firewood undercover? With a town having a population of around 250,000 what weekly tonnage could I expect to go through? I assume that this business could possibly run from late march to around 0ctober?
Any help would be much appreciated.

You will need to determine if you are delivering based on a cubic metre or per kilogram. You will need a vehicle, and if you are delivering by weight you will need scales. If you are considering having all this wood dumped on your lawn by a tipper then a back brace would be handy. You need to PAY for the wood, that MUST be supplied by an F.A.A. member, then you need to COST your delivery rate. I.E. reloading (weighing) from the lawn, distance, customer access and TIME. You need to be compliant with the national load restraint guidelines, and given the competitive nature of the industry you need to be prepared to go broke.

It takes an hour to hand load 500kg, onto a ute, another hour to the delivery point, and yet another hour to hand stack it where the customer wants it. Then an hour travel back to your depot/home (empty). At $25.00 per hour you WILL need to charge $100.00 delivery fee.

There is no way around it, your investment and time NEEDS to be paid for!! That's without the expenditure of front end loaders, property and truck.

Hi All.
I live on the Central Coast NSW.
I'm looking to stock up on firewood for the coming season and save a bit of money on our usual supplier by maybe buying out of season and in bulk.

Is anyone interested in giving me a quote to supply 8, 10 or more cubic metres of mixed hardwood / ironback / yellow box etc ?
If you have a bigger truck, I could probably get a list of other punters together to make it worth your while.
Our usual local suppliers charge around $100 per cubic metre delivered.

Cheers.

Richard.

Have you considered a tipper truck with a hiab? I haven't done it but I have entertained the idea of hand loading cages to be loaded by hiab.
