Default African mahogany bench tops.

Thought i would show you all my kitchen bench tops i finally got around to doing a while back. Had 2 big slabs of african mahogany (Khaya senegelensis) been air drying for about 5 years. when we moved back to our house after living bush, decided to replace kitchen and get to use my timber! Here are some pics:

The benchtops look great. A few of my friends have done them. One used mini orb for his door inserts. They also look great. I am thinking of changing our kitchen benchtops in a year or so when my wood seasons a bit more.
What did you use to coat them, was it a polyurethane based floor coating?
It seems to wear quite well on bench tops as well as floor boards.
Great photo's

Sun, yeah, 2 part epoxy flooring from Wattyl, 308 or something like that. it is very hard finish, these tops cop a hiding in the kitchen, pots, plates, knives etc, and hardly a scratch to be seen. I like a more natural finish mostly, but you have to make it a clean, healthy surface, which is hard with an oil type finish or similar. Also the finish was able to fill a few of the imperfections in the surface as well.
