hey im here im here. yep full on again and i think your weather jumped the tassie ekka. bloody hot for nz. my workers all suffering from the heat and the staff fridge is gettin a goin over at the end of the day. lots of work at the moment but who knows with the economy. heard the interst rates are goin to hike over in oz so a lot of people goin to feel the pinch-looking at up grading the chipper at the mo but have had a re think due to the economy and probably stay with a sixer instead of movin up to a 9 or 12-cost of fuel in the comin years could be a worry. other than that family-beautiful,surf -pretty good, fishing -f***ing fantastic. so life is damn fine.
had a great climb on a big poplar today, awesome view of the ocean.
like i say" i must get a desk job" yeah right

Good - thanks for asking. As you may know I?m new to this chat room. I will be starting to build an orchard within the next few months but I do have a small amount of room already set-aside. I thought I would use the area for blueberries. So this is my (sort of) tree question for the day. The area receives approximately two to three hours of sun in the morning; then the larger trees takeover. The shade is not very dark, somewhat spotty throughout the day. The question is can blueberry bushes thrive in such an area? I could wait until the orchard is built but that will probably push the blueberries back one year. Is a better to wait until I have an area that will provide full sun for the blueberries? Thanks for your expertise.

Hi Ekka.

I'm doing just fine right now. I fractured my ankle in December, but it's feeling much better now and I can get around just fine now.

My favorite drink? Well I'd say beer and tequila.

I'm just a lowly firewood guy, I sell about 20 cords a year, it's only a side job, but I love doing it,+ I've always had an interest in Arboricultural.

This site is awesome and your vids are very informative and well edited.

Well everyone like pics, so here are a few from neck of the woods.

Bundles of wood I sell.

Here is a pic of some trees covered in ice.

Thought I should finally enter this forum as it was started to get me to say something, sorry computer on the blink for a week (virus).

We need rain!!!!, but not now when grape harvest is on ( Mildura Vic) There is plenty of water coming down the darling but it wont hep people here much. The snowy mountains need a bumper snow fall this winter or this town pretty much closes up ? . That said though I am amazed at how busy I am. The works not great, like prune 300 cocos palms, then prune another 100. (The Italian's around here love to plant them on mass). but at least the work is there.

The weather has cooled of had a run of 40 degrees days a couple of weeks back . On the other hand I'll take a dry 40 day over a humid 34 one any day ?. The tropics ain't for me !!

Got one son turning 3 and the missus is baking another one as we speak, ah sleepless nights baby poo more baby poo can't wait.

Ahh no, you've got cocos palms there now. I haven't been down there for a long time, I worked there for a while, then Balranald, drought then to, but they said we had to move out because it was going to flood,. Next week where we were was under water, I didn't know about Qld rain effect then.

Hi Ekka,
Thanks for the invite. Things are good in Georgia, USA. I'm a software engineer who climbs and cuts wood for fun. I inherited an old family home with a bunch of mature water oaks that need some work. I am also heating an 80 year old, 6000 square foot home with wood. I replaced the ancient boiler with a new gas one when I moved in and used the old 400,000 btu/hr heat exchanger to build a wood-fired boiler outside. My wife runs the gas boiler when I'm out of the country.

A photo of my latest tree-related project is attached. I milled the lumber from some of my dead red cedars. This is for my 12yo daughter, Reid.

I got an error on that last post and it doesn't appear that the photo made it.
Maybe it will make it this time.

Got the winter blues.. We had 2 feet of snow in Iowa. Then it melted. Winter over? Nope. Got another foot, and tonight we are to get another! O well so much for global warming eh. My wife treats me good. She keeps me headed on the right path. Daughter is 18 yr. old. Trying to make her way in the world. The friends I have are the ones too have. Not always able to get on the computer. But it is nice to have a place to go when I am able to.

Hi Ekka,

things are going fine down on the coast, although this constant rain is a bit of a pain in the ass re; keeping working. I never thought that I would be complaining about rain this time last year! It does look fine and green everywhere at the moment though, something that was really missing from Victoria when we moved up here last year.
Had a good day out with family today at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, an excellent spot.

Must not have payed much attention until now. Had a post just for me. Well the weather has been great!! we are in the middle of feb and it is in the 70s. I have also got to enjoy our newest and final addition to the family. A little girl. that make a total of three 2 girls one boy I have just recently wanted to get more serious with my climbing. unlike the other sports I have done (scuba, kiteboarding and windsurfing) it depends on factors to do them. with tree climbing get to enjoy mother nature. I have been climbing for about 4 years but never wanted to advance until I got in with a tree company on the weekend for little extra cash for the new addition. so that is a little about myself. hope yall are not to bored

Brooks

ps great site excellent information and has already helped my climbing
