Hi Ekka, Thanks for the note and welcome. For starters hope to post a few pics of my shop, a couple of pieces of furniture, and my two buddies, my Saint Bernards once I figure out how to upload pics and if that's ok to post. Creeks2000 (uncle Jim,big dog) Oh, BTW, have heard about your drought, glad to hear you've received rain. |

slow! but this time of year things change daily. this is my latest victim. pine about 90' tall, 20" at the stump, and the tops about 15' off from the stump toward the house. a creek on the tension side of the stump had been at the root ball but it was completely climbable. i love a cut'n'run job in the rain. ![]() ![]() thanks for asking! Ekka, I wrote a real snazzy reply but STILL can't navigate this wonderful site. Today I put a stone handle on the custom knife I made for my son for X-Mass. Tomorrow I'll make the leather sheath with desert rattle snake skin. ( I'm known as the Queen of the road kill because I pick up dead snakes and skin them to incorporate the skin in my sheaths). I am working on props and sets for the next theater play opening in January. Who would have thought building a 3 foot replica of the Chrysler Building would be so damned difficult? I did make the red light to go on top. I am so pleased with myself . Besides making custom knives, building sets and props for theater and making fine jewlery, I have a very dull life. My two Chihuahuas run the show around here. Honest to goodness they can stare a hole in me to get what they want. The trees here are Scrub Oak..I have several rolls of photos of the roots growing out and around rocks on the canyon walls..beautiful stuff. There is Paloverde, some conifers (whats left after the old time miners cut them down to use in the copper mine)high in the mountains of Arizona and 20 minutes from Mexico there are several eco??? zones so the mountains have awesome trees. I am embarrassed I don't know the names of them..I am studying the hummingbirds..seems I am smack in the middle of the migration path so I have a front row seat out my window watching them drink at the feeders I hung on my porch. So, besides the above mentioned stuff I am doing...oh! yes, I am studying Italian because I expect to have a job in Italy in 24 months, life is dull. Raven |

Galbee, You laugh, you die but...what the h--- is my "User CP"? No need to reply because wandering around this site is insightful...not enough yet to teach me how to navigate properly. Sucks! Really because this Tree World site is one of the best I have ever accidently found. Thanks. Raven |

You'll get the hang of it in time. See in the blue bar above (navbar) 2nd from the left FAQ, click that for lots of help options. This is a Vbulletin board, pretty much becoming the standard board out there, frequent updates, decent features, integrated SEO and built by poms, they're pretty clever but it is a bugger having to pry off that union bloody jack from every board they sell.

Sheesh. Hit my elbow while starting up the 20" saw. Been off work for 3 days with the bloody swelling. Was on top of the loaded trailer at the time about to cut the load down ready for the couple of small jobs I had planned and forgot about the car-port rafter right behind me. I've just been telling people that I hit it on the car port roof. Nothing I do really surprises my mates much these days anyway. So bloody annoyed and just while everyone is ringing me to get their jobs done before Xmas (buckleys chance. )Don't want to embarrass people, but who else has done themselves an injury starting a chainsaw? |

If the weather holds out I should be climbing a tree for the first time this week. See how my elbow goes. Wasn't too bad when I went swimming last night, but climbing is a bit different...

| I used to have a Homelite XL-76, and it was a Cantankerous SOB to get started, even when it was warm. You would almost heave your guts out trying to start it. One day, I was trying to get that chain saw to start. I did a lot of pulling, on that starter rope, and the last pull I made, the starter rope broke, the chain saw started up, and quite. I was there holding the broken starter rope, looking at the stalled chain saw, while my sister was there, and she laughed, so instead of giving her a kick, I kicked the chain saw. Even with steel toed work boots on, I wound up breaking a toe. I traded a guy the chain saw, for a wood stove, a few years after that, and I was glad top be rid of that chain saw. Bruce.

| If memory serves me, It was my little toe that I had broke, while kicking the chain saw. I got the better part of the deal, when I traded the chain saw for the wood stove. It is out in my shop, and does a good job heating it. Bruce.

Top of the morning to you Ekka and to all. James Lindsay here again. Still searching out Bob Tooley & Bermy. I`m Here in NewHampshire at minus6 this morning. I`m still learning how to use this site. I do hope to find Bob. I`ve known him since I was a child. I wonder if he remembers all of us driving up to Moosehead Lake and trying to identify all the trucks going the other way. Or Warren Alderson trading the POM POMS for moose droppings when we were out hunting, up at his dads camp. Funny hunting trip that year. My home email is warlock2112@live.com. I do hope someone can help me put this info. in Bob Tooleys` hands. It would be great to here from him again. I get over to Camden on the Harley atleast once a year. I welcome any help in this matter Ekka. thanks , James Lindsay JR
