Ekka Thanks for starting the thread. Do you have any ideas why the brown sap is leeking from our old horsechestnut tree? It is 150 years old. Shirley |

Looking forward to moving out of this hostel and into new flat next weekend, getting a bit sick of living out of a suitcase. Put some christmas lights up into trees in the Grass Market a couple weeks ago, hopefully get more work this week. |

Hello Ekka and all. Very interesting forum ya'll have going. I've read quite a few things on here and it's good to learn what others from other countries are doing. My wife & I live in West Texas USA. We have 2 grown Sons and 3 wonderful Granddaughters. We have Mesquite and Cedar on our place. I cut and use Mesquite for firewood for our fireplace insert. Weather is great here now. We've had quite a lot of rain in the last couple months but back to dry right now with temperatures ranging 50's night and 70's during the day. Hope everyone has a great day.

Great! I have a question--if it's OK to ask. If not, I'll withdraw it immediately. This is the only forum I have been on where I have to type in the words to be able to post. I'm guessing some security issue? karl |

My favorite drink is for sure beer, and i like my vodka too. not mixed though just shots with a chase, preferably a Monster M-80 energy drink. i came home for the weekend to go out with my buddys and drank too much beer last night so im gonna hit the bottle tonight. i would like to eventually go to another country to do treework. any suggestions or specific places that stick out to anyone? |

Now, Ekka, how did you know I would look? Have you got the gift of second sight or something? Scaaaaary! Normally I post on sewing machine sites, not chainsaw, though I grew up with them, my dad being a sawmiller, so I have a tad of bush experiece one might say. I like pulling down old sewing machines and restoring them but I doubt I could run to chainsaws, though we do have one in the shed and my dad sold Stihl chainsaws later on post saw milling. Took a Lotto ticket with the number 13 in each line, being Friday 13th when I had my 'experience" - however though the number came up in several lines did not win anything. Perhaps I should have used 14 because it was when I found my way to Tree World. Drink - I gave up a year ago. Rather sad since I was a potter, fired wood kilns and many a port was sunk round a roaring kiln at four in the morning. |

My biggest fear is running out of fire wood as well. Other years, I had to cut fire wood during the winter, and throw it into the basement and pile it, hopeing it will dry good enough to burn. Problem I faced was haveing the fire wood covered in snow, the snow would melt in the basement, making the basement damp, and the fire wood would start to mold and mildew. Even if I had a couple small heaters, and a dehumidifire going, I'd still have the same result. This year, is the first year, that I will have more than enough fire wood in under roof, either in the wood shed, or the fire wood room in the basement, that I won't have to worry about throwing snow covered fire wood into the basement. Sure I'll be cutting fire wood during the winter, but it will be for next years burning for heat, and I'll be selling some fire wood as well, for next year too. Bruce.

Hi Guys, Thanks Eric for putting me into Treeworld history so quickly, you are pretty amazing I think we have been pretty fortunate over in the West, we haven't had the long standing droughts like the East coast. Our dams are at 52%, which I guess for the start of summer is pretty low, but not critical. Brisbane must have had some great rainfall however, still at 72% its great. I'm hoping Australia is over the GFC, business seems to be picking up. Lets hope that trend is worldwide. When I'm not selling loaders I'm out in the deep blue fishing and diving! See pic How is everyone else out there?! ....you have to admit when you sit back and think about it - the internet is pretty amazing. An old bloke once told me a story about doing business before faxes and some of the newer technologies...a letter would be sent and it would take a few days to get there, then the customer would read it over the next few days and would send a reply which would take another few days...everything took so much longer and here we are in real time. Cheers, Cameron Moir Schaffer Loaders ![]()

Don't worry about being computer illiterate. A lot of us members here, are that way too. One thing I know about them, is if you screw up while writing, you cam use the back space button, and you are set to go again. Something like the Tango. If you make a mistake, just Tango on. Bruce.
