That was an AWESOME picture Ekka. We only ever got within 1/2 mile or so of the fires. Which is actually pretty close. The 150'+ pines at the tops of the hills would ignite up like big tiki torches and throw flames a few hundred feet in the air. Quite the site. Yeah so whats with you having Lou's picture? Who's Lou? His post on the "starting your chainsaw" thread left me with a mental image of someone with both feet and one hand stuck on the ground and the other one waving around like you're playing twister. =) |

I have to agree with treevet. First one was a lot funnier too. Makes a person wonder if you turned into some kind of Tinker-bell ![]() , which we all know that you are not Ekka. Bruce.

You'd also have a helluva time cutting a tree down with a tv. (let alone cutting down the mightiest tree in the forest with... a herring!)

Well hello from East Anchorage, Alaska where we are receiving some rain... Pleased that it isn't falling in the form of snow, yet. We are busy fencing in some of our trees.. trying to protect them from the hungry moose that are all over town. Found that bird netting on 12' long rebar posts works the best. Not too ugly to look at and yet the moose respect it. Weird they don't try to knock down the bird netting to get the tree, but they don't .. probably because they don't have to go far to find a tree that isn't protected.. and end up munching that one. Any other Alaskan's out there???? |

Problem is that you have been here 1 year and made 1 post, the whole idea is to be seen, visible and contributing. Being here 1 year is great, and good to see you back, but 1 post? Surely you can post pictures, video, jokes etc?? So lets see some more activity, then sure, I don't have an issue. We hear and see great things from your part of the world, start showing us some.

1 year / 1 post = not much contribution!!! Spent most of the evening tracking/banning hackers on my other server... some people just suck. Gonna go do some gaming, blow off some steam. |

You get an early Christmas present, or perhaps the wife wants a more expensive one, or the boss wants a huge ROI?

Things are fine here in PA.....up and down temps playing havoc with nature. I am trying to find out about a tree that I saw and I love it. Big elephant looking leaves and string bean like pods. It's a puzzler. |

Hi Ekka. Nope I haven't won Lotto, haven't been on the site for a while, assessment madness approaches in the Dip Hort game, I'm of the opinion that teachers haven't got a life. Personally I like Bourbon at the moment but have been known to brew a beer in a past life. Have a beer on me, I'll drop in time to time. jmcg insight gardens
