Ekka and all members of Tree World! I am doing great! I am a fire fighter here in the U.S. Specifically Arizona, if any of you have been or are from. Although, I am not your average Fire Fighter. I am on what is call a Hotshot Crew and I travel the Western United States and hike all over the most rugged terrain battling wild fires by cutting saw line with a STIHL 440! I love my job! I reckon there are some arborists from and saw enthusiasts from all over the world here on this forum. That is Awesome that I am able to interact with you all and hear how you may do things in other countries! As the fire season draws to an end I am trying to start my own business cutting brush for peoples homes and make them safe and ok for fire to come on their property and not Burn the house down. This also means I will have more time for fishing and crackin open a cold one and just relaxin! We have had a lot of rain here lately as well and most of the lakes are fairly full! As for Rum EKKA... I am a fan of the Rum! Captain Morgan to be exact and I enjoy mine with a coca cola or a Dr. Pepper! I am excited to be here and listen to what you have to say about saws and your jobs! Agent Orange! |

Agentorange... that makes sense now. Seeing as how you "defoliate" in the path of an oncoming fire. I lived up in a place called Lake Hughes, in northern Los Angeles county for 16 years or so. Right in the middle of Angeles Nat'l Forest. Lots of fires tend to come through that way. Several years ago had a big fire that burned through several hundreds of thousands of acres out there. Managed to get a contract with the Forestry department with a buddy of mine to go cut firebreaks through the mountains out ahead of the firelines. Not as close as you guys work, but it was still hella-cool. Good to have you with us man! (and still waiting on the explanation of Defensible Space Markets...lol) |

Yeah that cutting fire breaks sounds cool. You know, I'm so over the vilification of tree cutters. Large fires are a wake up call for sure. Want to see a great picture. Click below and perhaps save it. ![]() http://dels.nas.edu/climatechange/images/wildfire.jpg

Well, the alternator in the ute crapped itself, red light come on. So I pulled intot he auto electrician, he confirmed with meter that alternator not charging. How much to fix mate? $500! ![]() Quick call to auto wreckers, have one in stock, 3 month warranty $80 Ask same auto electrician to fit, $50 Ahhh, all up 3 hours lost but only $130 to repair, I'm glad I paid the $50 to fit it coz it was rather tight in that engine bay with a hot radiator next to you.

Looking @ all the Doskos that have just appeared on eBay. Just looking at them causes my back to start hurting from the memories of using them.
