Yer I reckon you'd clean up on a few acres of Diesel trees, everyones gonna have to plant some, even those engines that run on old chip oil would be the go.I reckon you'd get fat cause the fumes would make you hungry for chips!

Yup, windy windy. Had gusts up to 120mph here just a week or so ago. Plastic lawn furniture flying from one lawn, over a fence, to the next.

Pretty much anything not nailed down moved itself to another spot. Makes it dang hard to snooze, you're right about that.

I was in the doc's office for my pneuomnia when a guy came in pretty shooken up. I guess he was driving past Granary Square in Valencia and a tree fell right across his car.

Going GOOD ya'all. Finally took down the 85-90 red oak in my back yard
by climbing it and taking it down in pieces. Not too bad for a 56 year ol'
man just learning. No damage and no accidents. Took my time to learn
how to do it right. Just been climbing and cutting 2 years now, but my
age lets me know I should have started 20 to 30 years ago. It is
such a rush and so mentally and physically challenging. Reminds me of my
sports days when I was young.

My daughter is getting ready to transfer to another college and things
have been a bit crazy. Lots to do this summer.

Ekka, you've put up a great site for all tree workers! Beginers to the most
experienced. Your vids have been most helpful to me as a beginner and
taught me how to climb smart and safe. I'm still slow, but that's OK. I just
had to learn this tree climbing thing once I found out about it and fell in
love with it. Thanks for all of the help from everyone that posted.

Oh, you asked in one post you made, what do I like to drink. Beer only, couple
of beers through the week and a little bit more on Saturday with my Gibson
and playing some good music. Life is Good!

Wait til your 14/15 year old daughter thinks she's 21 KTSteve, then you and the wife are in for some adventures. I got 3 late 20's daughters and you may notice some grey hairs at that time of your life.

Dear Ekka this is VERY VERY VERY embarrising!!! I just stubled onto this thread.

Thank you I am quite fine here in Austria. As you might suspect no Kangroos over here.

I am busy collecting some wood were I can get it for free. I live in Vienna but we have our forest in Styria so its 250km away and transporting wood is out of the question. So I just scrouge around and just happen to get a tree or two that nobody really needs.
My newest idea is giving my girlfriend a nice trimmer either a stihl fs55 or a husky 125r for some work around the garden our at her parents house.
I have a big Stihl trimmer for the forest but bringing it forth and back is a pain. I have been lucky enough to aquire a nice new stihl 180 chainsaw for me this spring. Time to put the old mini mac to rest.

Be happy that you still have small children because my stepson is 14 and his progress in school is very very limited and is causing me quite a big headache!

I am very happy for you that the rain season has been so productive. Since I have read that drought is one of Australias worst enemies besides polititians. We have the same problem here. I mean the politicians.

Rain is one of our lesser problems but we are also feeling a change through global warming here. Much less natural snow in winter which is bad for spring blossoming.

yours sincerly

Bringing home some wood the small way.

But I belive since I had an accident with my tried and trusted 14year old car 3weeks ago it is time to upgrade!

We will see what the budget can afford.

Well loaded, just as well no hitch hikers.

Unusual for this time of year we just had 4 days of rain and registered 180mm in my guage at home. (Summer is our wet season winter usually dry)

But as usual only a fraction of that fell in the dams, maybe 50mm coz they're in a bad spot.

Would you build a dry dock for ships inland atop a mountain?

Well they built the dams out west in low fall areas. The original idea was flood mitigation 40 years ago. Now it's drought, but the dry drought cycle has been here some 25years and will continue ... years like this one are becoming little blips on the annual statistics.

We haven't been allowed to hose the garden for around 2 years now.

Just went over that ranger,it needs a rear output shaft seal[on order],camshaft, plugs, air filter wireset,at least 1 tire.I have the gas tank out of it right now so i can clean the contacts on the sending unit so the gas guage will work. Not to bad really,i'vae also been doing storm clean up,got a call about a fallen oak small eally but might be going back to remove 3 black cherry trees with root rot.
