The big saws can get pretty nasty, but it's not bad with a carving bar. I use "dime tip" bars, they also make "quarter tip" bars which are a bit bigger. You have to use 1/4 pitch chain with these bars because 3/8 or .325 won't turn that tight. This means changing the drive sprocket. The small nose radius really reduces kickback. I don't use the tip with a regular sprocket nose bar. Here's a pic of a dime tip bar with a US penny on the tip.......... ![]() and a bench I'm working on........... |

Those were the registration numbers of two aircraft I used to own. I haven't ever actually played them, I'm waiting to play them on the day they hit. Actually, I'm like you, I don't drink very much because I don't like hangovers. But funny you should ask, because I'm pretty hung over today. I had a courier delivery to Cleveland yesterday, so I stopped by to see the friend who is the iron worker to thank him for the retractable cable lifeline. He's the one who hooked me up with it. He howled with laughter when I shared my first tree experience with him. He wasn't surprised though, he's known me since he was six or so. He opened a bottle of Chevas Regal whiskey which we killed using beer as chasers. I was pretty wobbly in the morning and felt bad for the drive back to Pittsburgh. I hadn't even a chance to shit, shower, or shave before the phone rang and it was another courier run to Erie, about 275 miles round trip. Had a hard time staying awake for it. Aerial

I spent my morning and part of the afternoon in the junk yard and underneath a friends bronco changing the starter, solenoid, and starter cable.Best part is it was raining almost the whole time.Nothing wrong with some side cash.

I always get a good chuckle watching the Harley riders trying to look as though they are enjoying their ride when they choose to dress so inappropriately. Dressed in denim and show leather without a helmet you can see the grimace in their face as they slowly lose their body heat. It is no wonder that most Harley riders do not ride very far. Between the vibrations and the poor clothing choices short rides are all they can manage. As for the year so far we are ahead of an average rainfall amount by about 25% and we haven't officially hit the rainy season yet. The trees are starting to flower. The Acer rubrum, Red Maple, are among the first trees in our area to flower. The make a small, red flowers on all of the red-hued twigs. It is a sure sign of spring. Other early bloomers are, Pieris floribunda(MountainAndromeda), Hamamelis virginiana(Witch Hazel), and Magnolia stellata(Star magnolia). As people start to venture outside again the tree business begins to pick up from the winter domancy.

Yeah, imagine the wind chill factor on the bike. Over here it's law for kids on push bikes to wear helmets let alone grown men on motor bikes. So are they rebels or it's OK to not wear helmets?

Different states have laws for/against mandatory helmets. My state does not and whenever someone dies in a mcycle crash it is always noted that "they were not wearing a helmet".

I used to have a 1971 BMW R60/5 motorbike, only sold it after I purchased a 2002 MINI Cooper S. It was just sitting in the garage gathering dust. Whenever I rode, below 15c(60F), I would wear electric clothing, vest and gloves, under my heavy weight leather jacket and leather pants. I also wore a full face helmet anytime I rode. With the electrics I would be comfortable all the way down to -8c(20F). Had some great rides in the winters. No crowds It is amazing how comfortable I would be and how uncomfortable other rides would be under the same conditions without the electrics. Hoooray for modern technology. My state does not require a helmet, but all of the surrounding states do. By choice I always wore a helmet. Bikers that choose not to wear helmets are refered to as "organ donors".

You are developing nets so people don t get bonked passing under the trees? We remove walnut trees or cut back as they can give a good bonk and even dent cars but I can imagine those trees would crash an auto or send a person to the hospital?

People get killed when cocnuts hit them on the head, they're bloody big. In the shops they've had the husk thing removed and you got just the round nut thing. We dont have many coconut trees down here but when I was up there I was gobsmacked by the volumes of them and flamin coconuts everywhere. In the place we were staying out that had signs everywhere, "beware of falling coconuts". We just picked a few up off the ground, the bloke there cracked the husks off and we had coconut 24/7 ... you know it's a laxetant! Well I didn't but found out.

Crikey, you gotta go easy. Your body aint used to all that tree climbing. Warm bath with the ole epsom salts and massage, most likely muscular and pinched nerve. Anyone up there in the "nature healing" scene practice Bowen Therapy? Out of all that mumbo jumbo including acupuncture and chiro ... that's the treatment that I swear by.

I get like a pain travels all the way from my butt to my toes down the RH leg. Like some-ones got a pair of long nose pliers trying to reef a vien out or something. Last a few days then pisses off, generally happens after a decent climb when I've had a break. I use beer to fix it.

I'm dong fine and hope the same for everybody in "the WORLD", Tree World that is. Several of us only recently emerged from the dungeon where we cobbled together a new cattledog so I'm seeing a little cross-eyed right now. Perhaps i should shuttle down to the local pub and spill one of my favorite refreshments; a VB or Fosters Premium perhaps. best to all! tobe |
