| Thought I'd start this thread for you Unregistered, we've had a lot of rain here and our dams are the fullest they've been for 2 years at 35%. Kids are back to school and the youngest started for the first time, so cute with her little bag and uniform. ![]() Time flies Unregistered, so how's things down your way? Don't be shy now. ![]()

| I ain't figured out what's going on with this thread Eric but I'll put in the answers, questions too! Good news about the rain then, after all that dry period. I still can't stop smoking (20 a dia) and my drinking is to the bare maximum. How many children you got and how old Eric? I know how ya feel about watching them go off. Make the most of every day whilst they are young cos it doesn't last long. Twas really a good feeling seeing my youngest tottle off to school for the first time, it's like it takes you away from all the shit in the world. I use to really worry about them in the UK but here is totally different. I watched them play outside school tonight with their Portuguese friends and it made me feel so good about it all. Work is a pig to find and I've lost a few jobs already from being over priced. I will have to wind my neck in and start to quote Portuguese prices, about €250 a week self employed. The wife and me are gonna give it 12 more months and if it doesn't pick up we will be shooting back to the UK to start again. Well, you asked! Take good care of yourselves, Mitch. Sorry to hear about the news Lopa, take care!

| HI EKKA, things are going good for us too. Lots of work on, deconing pines this week or next ( what a fun job that is!it's jobs like that which helps me remember why i prefer the office) My little one just started school too, she loves it ( so do I !) now the're all at school so things are quite a bit easier. We've only had a little bit of rain, nearly my whole garden is dead except our native hedge which is doing really well. Our wine region is really stuggling, they have to come up with their own water or pay $600 a giga litre, hopefully they do'nt go under as some of the vines are 113 years old.Langehorne creek is one of them.there is no doubting climate change is having some serious impact on our envionment. Must be green up your way! You must come across some pretty cool insects in trees up there ekka. There all supersize from what i remember, got any good pics? I have heard about a specific type of moth that when you touch it puts you in excruciating agony, every seen/touched one of those?I'm going to a talk from the insect guy at our museum soon, should be good, ill let you know any interseting things i find out. They are really fascinating little buggers Polly ![]() |

| Thanks for the thread Ekka!!! I know its wet, but wow, I haven't been this busy in three years!!! Its seems to have gone a little silly. People are actually having to book over a week in advance. My 4 x 4 is getting a good work out though pulling all the trucks and chipper out of the paddock!!! People thought I paid a lot of money for my winch set up but it has saved me a massive bill in Knights towing!!!!! Got the 14" going now with the land cruiser, will post picks soon. Actually got a couple of jobs to chip up now so better go. Looks like definitely set to go to the States this year with the outlook of bringing a container load of goodies so get your orders in now. PM message me with any orders.

| Loads of rain here, reservoirs are full and ready to be fished again in March. Met up with BenR and took him climbing the other day. He's only 18 but he's taking it all in. Had to set up the ART for him with advancing pulley as his hip thrust wasn't up to much, but he'll get there. Might take him on a couple of jobs at weekends so he can learn the ropes a bit more. Phone is ringing constantly, now that we've had a bit of wind (75mph), and people are getting scared of their trees blowing over. Kids are off this next week (half term) Nightmare for the missus, all five together ![]()

| Trying to tie it in so that the missus can come with me. Currently training a bloke to do my job while I am not here (he is a little daunted at the moment) but he is a top bloke. Looking May/June time at the moment. which will meen delivery around september time. It is going to take a bit to get the first one here but once up and running should be fairly straight forward

| Hey! What about the kids question Eric? Anyway, use to do the lottery but don't give a fig for it now. Always feel lucky, my son fell off his bike last week and knocked a tooth out, we couldn't find it. I had to get him home so the missus could take care of him, but he sent me back to find the tooth and there it was in the middle of the road, amongst all the other bits of "tooth lookalike gravel", so it only took 45 minutes. Boy was he chuffed when I handed him his tooth, boy, did I feel lucky! ![]()

| May be the butt of a joke for all I know, being new here and all, but what the hell, if so I prob deserve it anyway so why not play along? Just finished a 4 day stomach flu that had me up for 2 straight all nighters of sitting on the can. Go to get up and get half way out the door and just turn right around and go back in. Had a few laughs with a friend that also had it (like no need to urinate as it was already taken care of) nothing funny about it though in reality. Still got enough strength to tiptoe over this here keyboard and tell you that, it is damn good to be alive and after 18 years of sobriety, it feels better and gets easier to be alive every year, than all the previous X years of hell raising, causing trouble, getting in fights, and getting drunk and trying to be somebody, while making life miserable for everyone else. cheers. |
