Ekka, Thanks for the E-Mail reminding me to be part of the action. The weather here in Georgia U.S.A. " No Rain forever " We are at an all time water low in this part of the country. One of our major lakes is 26 feet down. It's estimated that with normal ( What ever that is ) rainfall,it will take ten years to get back to the basic levels. All of the surrounding States are fighting for water with us. I now have ten Grandchildren ( 21 years down to 4 months ) three Grand boys and the rest are Grand girls. Keeps me young and crazy and I have to get away somedays so I find a good tree to climb. I will become a retired person for the third time this April. My offical title is "Triple Dipper", That means I am on a fixed $ retirement income from three different areas. Life is good and I'm still young and healthy. Thank you lord for all my blessing!! Hey ekka, thanks for the thread. Things are going well down in florida. I have been working as a private consultant part time for a home building company designing their trusses for all their new homes but home building in florida is so slow right now. The other half of my time Im doing tree work and its taking off, but i dont really advertise yet. just word of mouth and the logos on my truck. Witch by the way my homeowners association now says I cant park it in my drive way or in their community at all, and it doesnt fit in the garage. I have a bunch of brazilian pepper trees that have taken over my back yard so i made a clearing so i could see the lake in the back. But i haven't hauled the brush away yet. As soon as i did this of course the association made a stink. they hired browns tree services to come out and give a quote to the sum of $400 to bill me if I dont have it removed. I think they should hire vector tree to haul it, I think that guy would do it for half the price. The h.a. knows very well i own a tree service, they just harass me. take care Chris..........

Lots of $ out of pocket. They were going to pay my ISA membership+my ohio chapter+$100 for passing their arborist test+foreman wages+$300 of my gear flew out of the truck when the gm went back to the shop to dump. Never was outfitted for gear which they promised. Used all my gear. They said they recomend removals 1% of the time. 45 removals in one month. I felt like a an urban logger. Driving 45min. to work sucked to. lots of promises and NONE happend. Hope that shop drowns. It was probably the same salesman from the 70's.

I recently caught a newscast saying an adjoining state is trying to literally move the location of their border so they are contiguous with a river in your state?

Hi all

What a fantastic post - and started in my name. WOW

Since the post is started in my name I'd better join in:

My name is Niels Ejnar Petersen 42 years old and living i Denmark with my wife Margrethe (same name as our Queen) and our 3 kids, Mikkel (boy) 18, Frederikke (girl) 16 and Sophie (girl) 13.

I'm a forester and teach forestry at a school Dansk Center for Jordbrugsuddannelse.
In my spare time I'm a Chainsaw Carver.

On the 23. February I'm going to Ridgway Pennsylvania for the biggest Chainsaw Carving event in the world: 9th annual Ridgway Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous www.chainsawrendezvous.org Can hardly wait.

In Denmark it should be winter now but temperature is almost spring like.

Ekka - my favorite drink is beer or my homemade walnut flavored "snaps".

Here is a picture of my family.

hey im here im here. yep full on again and i think your weather jumped the tassie ekka. bloody hot for nz. my workers all suffering from the heat and the staff fridge is gettin a goin over at the end of the day. lots of work at the moment but who knows with the economy. heard the interst rates are goin to hike over in oz so a lot of people goin to feel the pinch-looking at up grading the chipper at the mo but have had a re think due to the economy and probably stay with a sixer instead of movin up to a 9 or 12-cost of fuel in the comin years could be a worry. other than that family-beautiful,surf -pretty good, fishing -f***ing fantastic. so life is damn fine.
had a great climb on a big poplar today, awesome view of the ocean.
like i say" i must get a desk job" yeah right

Good - thanks for asking. As you may know I?m new to this chat room. I will be starting to build an orchard within the next few months but I do have a small amount of room already set-aside. I thought I would use the area for blueberries. So this is my (sort of) tree question for the day. The area receives approximately two to three hours of sun in the morning; then the larger trees takeover. The shade is not very dark, somewhat spotty throughout the day. The question is can blueberry bushes thrive in such an area? I could wait until the orchard is built but that will probably push the blueberries back one year. Is a better to wait until I have an area that will provide full sun for the blueberries? Thanks for your expertise.

Hi Ekka.

I'm doing just fine right now. I fractured my ankle in December, but it's feeling much better now and I can get around just fine now.

My favorite drink? Well I'd say beer and tequila.

I'm just a lowly firewood guy, I sell about 20 cords a year, it's only a side job, but I love doing it,+ I've always had an interest in Arboricultural.

This site is awesome and your vids are very informative and well edited.

Well everyone like pics, so here are a few from neck of the woods.

Bundles of wood I sell.

Here is a pic of some trees covered in ice.
