| Hi all, Very wet in UK, 2nd worst summer for many years, but i'm sure you all know how S**t it can be other this side of the world. Personal life is good at the moment, just finished splitting this years Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) for winter fuel and neatly stacked in the barn. Was inspired on these neat log stacks whilst on work related study tours in Czech and Slovak republics. Little old girls splitting and stacking all day long! My partner of 4 yrs is moving down to Birmingham UK from Liverpool Uk after a 18 month spell apart so its the satrt of good times again. Long story as to why we were apart but lets say Joanna (the better half) was fed up moving around the UK for my chosen occupation. But like i said to her "i gotta go where the trees are". Work is great and has been for the last 2 years. Been promoted from Operational Manager of an award winning tree firm to lead consultant. Dealing mainly with sub foot GPS BS 5837 Trees in Relation to Construction (2005) surveys, Terraventing, air spade excavations and big tree spade jobs and Local Authority tree inspections. Thanks for the very warm welcome to your blog EKKA! Seems like a nice little thing going on here, where us tree folk can have a chat about what drives us to work in the great outdoors with mother natures oldest living organism - TREES!! Right i'm off to speak to a chap in the Isle of Man tree group to give him some advice about rouge tree surgeons on the Island as i used to work as a forester in the Manx government and might have a few contacts for him to pester about this issues. Once again thanks for the welcome!! Peace and Love to you all!!!!!!!!! ![]()

| Since the Ekka started and coincidently the Olympics, it's been bloody freezing. Coldest I remember for years, and a decent westerly blowing.

| Aaaaah, Mt. Blackheath, mid July, 8.30AM, SW wind strong enough to blow the sugar out of your tea, 40' up a pole replacing a crossarm, nothing between me and Antartica but clouds and that much thermal underwear that you can hardly move. Now that was cold! They were the good old daze, may they stay buried forever. Dennis |

| And there were people that had lived in Mt. Blackheath all their lives and wouldn't dream of living anywhere else. Never could understand it. Then again, the Blackheath Bowling club was always nice and warm. That could have been where I went wrong. Not enough time spent indoors! ![]() Dennis. |

| Hmmmmmmm, Orlando sounds good, better than Wauchope at 4.30 am. Would be nice if it rained a bit though, things are getting dry and that means the firebugs will be out and about sometime soon. Not allowed to shoot the mongrels either, the Coroner has a problem with holes in dead bodies. |

| well as far as rain.... We've now had 24 inches in 48 hours. And Faye is still over Florida. Flooding in some areas (not mine thk god). Wind gusting to 30 Mph - not too bad, but cleanup is gonna be a pain, palm fronds and husks, spanish moss everywhere. Also, im watching the Aussie women's Baskeball team kick the shit out of China at the moment. Winner plays USA, should be a good game.
