Thanks for the welcome Ekka. After a summer drought we are in a winter flood so it seems to be a year of weather extremes. Have recently returned to NZ after 21 years in UK and had 2 summers on the trot so this winter lark is a bit of a shock. I'm involved in the servicing and repair of machinery on a golf course and as well as mowers we have saws, brush-cutters and hire chippers as necessary so I'm interested in your website. Regards to all. ![]()

Raining! Been looking into buying a couple of used 372xp's and happened across this site. Have to buy a new saw because some lowlife got into my truck and stole my 288xp. the saw was sweet, i bought it about 5 years ago when the guy i had working for me popped my 371xp. I was getting ready to tune it up for a local saw contest when "SUPRISE" it was gone! Now that I found this site i'm gonna buy 2 saws, use one for logging, and at least do a muffler mod and big bore kit on the other. I need more power because my buddy beat me at the competition with a worn out 371 that I sharpened! i was stuck using a 372xp that never sees any real rpm's. Other than that things are peachy

Got the 038 for free from an old friend, he's 98 now and bought this a few years back new. As you can imagine it has done very very little. Going to get a 14" bar for it. I did quiet a bit of work with 020's in harness, I find that the short bars are good enough for most jobs. Only when you are sneeding up large trees do you have to go to the big ones. Thanks for the reply. Regards Tom

Well, our weather has been totally odd this year, and it looks like a drought is under way. We had our August weather( 38-40 C) in June, and now we are having our June weather ( foggy mornngs, 30 C max in the afternoon). We had the latest freeze anyone can remeber and the earliest grape harvest in thrity some years. The wine should be really great though. We are in the base of the Sonoma Valley, so from here north, its pretty much solid grape vines as far as the eye can see. A lot of the old fruit orchards are gone or going. They just cut down 140 peach trees to plant more grapes in the Napa region. Sad really. Imean, we have grapes enough, and it would be nice not to have to import all our fruit from South America. regards to all, Martin

The weather seems pretty messed up everywhere. The rain is breaking records here every week. When it should be nice sunny days we are getting 70mm if rain. Flash floods and closed roads are turning into the norm here in the summer. Drought is definetly not something the Irish normally have to worry about. I think the film Inconvienent Truth is starting to come true. Still, can have a few beers in the local and laugh so not too bad. Regards T
